he just signed a 3 year extension 6 months ago and apparently has a buyout clause. He would be a decent selection but it is very doubtful. signed till 2024 now

Maybe the greatest mystery I've seen related to Mason basketball in the 20+ years I've been following. I just don't get it....As for hypothetical replacements, I would want to see a Coach L tree guy or Mike Lonergan. Lonergan can coach and got railroaded at GW.

Posters on here are part of the problem. The only reason Paulsen should have ever been extended was anNCAA appearence. Those are the expectations. 3 years NiT mininum then year 4 and 5 NCAA. If you do not get that done, you are fired. Anything else is unacceptable. This is why Mason basketball died. People on here continue accepting losing basketball. Its going on a decade now.

Then write a $10M check and dictate what you want to happen. Hell, I bet $5M would probably do it. Otherwise, realize what lane you're in and that this is not Kentucky.

I have talked to a friend about Lonergan on multiple occasions. The guy can coach, especially defense. I would be on board with him. At this point I'd take Mickey the Chimp over DP.
