True, but it’s looking like we are going to go into next season with another open scholarship so I guess someone should have told that.

Lack of resources sir. Didn't you know Olean, NY was a hotbed in recruiting and retention of top talent?

This is true but DP failed to recruit and now we have an open scholarship, which should not happen. Unless we find a grad transfer, we will probably use the last scholarship on one of the walk-on guys. Losing JK goes down as losing the battle for your top recruit because that is exactly what it should have been. JK should have been DPs top priority since the day the season ended and he lost him. I hope he had a back up plan but with all of the grad transfers gone..I highly doubt he did.

to be fair, if Kier is healthy he plays out his senior year at mason.

he’s definitely been able to develop some of his talent, but then hasn’t been able to have them finish off (some of it). That’s where having some transfers come in to bridge development gaps would’ve helped especially after some guys didn’t work out etc etc

about 4-6 that can play right away would be an automatic upgrade to our rotation. I think they issue the waiver as well which would make it more like 15-20

EDIT this is not counting freshman but we haven't offered any incoming freshman that is any good so I will hold my breath.

Our staff should be tied to anyone with a pulse right now. It’s not like there are workouts or film sessions going on right now. Nothing to do but slide into those DMs.

instead they watch people go to inferior schools and have fans say that is because of lack of resources. Our dumb a** fans make it so easy on Paulsen and co

If I'm a mid-major, I fill my roster at this point with mostly transfers, especially if the one-time waiver rule goes into effect. It's going to be a lot less fun being a mid-major fan having players develop and leave to go somewhere else and having to replace them with mercenaries.

Mid-majors will be the minor leagues for development before kids move to the bigs and retreads for kids that couldn’t handle it in the top conferences.

Correct. But you can call me naïve, but I think the outcome of mid-majors will remain the same. Every so often a mid major will have a nice dance in the tourney. Power conferences have always dominated, nothing new.

Dave’s whole refusal time go after transfers is going to end up being his downfall. The rules/game is changing and he’s not changing with it. He’s going to go the way of the dinosaur because of his stubbornness and failure to adapt to the changing game.
