I was curious so I decided to look into DP's record against A10 opponents. Records below include A10 Tournament play.
DP has a losing record against 7 teams. .500 record against 1 team. Winning record against 5 teams.

This is pretty telling. Paulsen is a bottom feeder coach

Thanks for posting. I think it goes to show exactly what we knew about Dave. He can beat the teams at the bottom that we all expect to beat, but hes struggled against a lot of the top teams. Smack dab average in league.

Actually, I had Jim delete the comment because it doesn't make sense for the boards to have name calling and we shouldn't act like a bunch of children. Lets discuss the program and the team, not name call.

We can agree to disagree but to me a bottom feeder is a team that never makes it above the bottom level of a league. Mason has done that, and Paulsen is good against the bottom feeder teams. Although he struggles against the top, winning against the bottom and struggling against the top equals average/mediocre. That was good progress, the problem that myself and many people have is that I don't think he is capable of getting the program beyond that. Although looking at it again, the teams are somewhat mixed too. He is good against Richmond overall although I believe hes lost 3 in a row, but not so good against GW, although he has improved against GW lately (hes won 4 of 5).

All this comes back to, is that hes an average coach (approximately) in the league. You can do worse, but you probably could do better.

You’ll be surprised how effective it can be when you get 50 emails regarding the same issue
in a short amount of time.

A fellow board member and six figure donor is trying to have a serious discussion with some in the mason administration and those emails will help him make his case and slap them into reality.

Unfortunately, there are so many question marks surrounding Kier, I don't know how much you can count on him to factor in. The most important question is if he will be back. If he is, will he be back to his previous form. The history of player performance under Paulsen post injury does not bode well for his impact should he return. See Boyd, Mar, Otis, Reuter, etc. for examples.

Done and also ask for a “fireside chats” at brions like hewitt used to be held accountable at (this is 3rd party to me as I was in school and never attended). I would love to speak to paulsen and hear his BS outside the comfort of the media room.

Yep

I generally think Kier was a steal. I think he is a smart efficient player. With that said, I never thought he would be able to replicate last season. IMO, I think he benefited from opponents putting their best defender on Otis. So, this season, teams would put their best defender on Kier. Unless he really improved it would have been difficult to put up the same numbers.

This team has no serious inside threat, and no serious outside threat. Meaning, we only win when we are more athletic than the other team and can get to the rim- NOT GOOD for a mid major team. We need better schemes.

Womens teams run really good offenses because they can't rely on just athleticism. What if we think outside the box here and hire a female coach? We may be able to get someone really high caliber from the NBA

A few of us have had really similar conversations to this in the gold room over the last few weeks. Completely agree with what Lamar is putting down here.
