Absolutely a possibility. Long term one of the worse possibilities for the program, but I’m getting torn what is worse, an extension then firing or lame ducking then letting him go.

If DP gets “extended,” I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s on condition of agreeing to reduce or eliminate his buyout. So he gets the appearance of 3 more years to sell recruits, but we can also fire him at no cost if next season goes south.

He’s from Baltimore and works under Rick Barnes, but you’re right I didn’t connect that dot either.

Can’t imagine Barnes would be thrilled to lose his top recruiter, but Kim flirted with SE Missouri St last year, so who knows..

He’s obviously the hot shot up and comer that we’d want. He just seems like he’s a little too new for my liking as Skinn and Knight seem to have more experience.

I understand the math. I just don't understand how they can work together if given this ultimatum.

sounds good. Tony started coaching in general in 2012 which is why I called a little more experience, but college coaching for 6 years is college coaching. Interested to hear more about him.

I have no knowledge of the situation, so you may well be right. But coaches have agreed to fire assistants and make other concessions to keep their jobs so it’s not unheard of.

I’ve asked him about scheduling Mason and I never really get a straight answer, not that he owes me one. Tennessee scrimmaged Clemson a couple of years ago.

So I’ve always wondered, is this really a thing? It makes sense to me, but I can’t think of any examples off the top of my head.
