A bit of an inside DCUnited fandom joke, but we should get Mesut Özil to open up a coffee shop in EBA and then we can name it after him.
Starting on page 147 there's some new renders of the practice facility. Not gonna lie, it's kinda fugly.
Take all that money and put it into the roster.
At this point, stick it into the arena. I'd at least like a better place to watch us lose.

Mason literally beat the #16 ranked team in the country (Dayton) at home last season...
I still find it wild that multiple Admins/ADs over the better part of the last decade have privately fundraised exactly $0 for this project (if I'm reading slide 145 correctly).
Pretty sure the $15.5M of "Mason funding" was approved and provided by the state a number of years ago and we've just been rolling it over in the budget since, can't imagine it would be easy to just shift that to something else like renovating EBA.

Oh I mean yeah, I know they can't actually just throw it elsewhere. It would just be nice.

Mason has won a lot of home games the past few years...
42-10 over the past 3 years and change if my math is mathing.
Knowing that facilities is not nearly the recruiting tool it used to be, in a perfect world I would reallocate a chunk of that money to roster building/maintenace and utilize the rest for EBA premium area updates to enhance the donor experience.
That is just a schematic design. No way it will look like a 1980s community college library.

In all seriousness - that is not the final design - they are showing concept and foot print.
Having said that working my way down a 200 page PowerPoint deck - I got stuck on the slide about the "Body Disposal Farm".........
Not having a final design at this point feels a little wild. I get that tweaks need to be made as a project sits, but we've been hearing about this thing for years now.
Agreed - but if the current one is less than optimal - don't mind seeing options that are floating around
I really don't see this project seeing the light of day, tbh. Unless Mason makes some postseason run to pull in some donations, fundraising for this thing seems to be nigh impossible.
