GSII - I have very high hopes for Boyd as well. By far the guy I've been most excited about DP bringing in.

I'm excited about Temara, too. An athletic stretch 4 with range? It might take him an extra year to adjust because of his position, but he might be a beast for us.

"The one I believe that will show us that, and at the same time put some perspective into DP's recruiting success or lack thereof, is Boyd."

The whole can he or can't he recruit is stoopid. This is his first class coming off the outstanding PH momentum and now he should be pulling down pay-wall driven 4 ⭐️'s. Breathe and enjoy the process of rebuilding done the right way.

YEah all two star prospects. Meanwhile the rest of the A-10 is getting high caliber talent.

This is false. You only have to look just 90 miles south to see a school (Richmond) that has built a solid program despite never landing more than 3-star recruits.

It's also premature. I don't care if we had hired sleazy Calipari, we weren't gonna be signing 4- and 5-star recruits after Hewitt destroyed our program. Expecting that is just not realistic.

Our staff is working their asses off to lay the groundwork and build relationships that are key to recruiting in a competitive region like the DMV. It doesn't happen overnight, but it is happening.

Ask around. DP is VERY well respected as both a teacher of the game and a man who demands the best from his players on the court and in the classroom. Our assistant coaches are all first class guys and we're blessed to have them.

We are in with a bunch of very intriguing prospects in the 2017 and '18 classes and I will be shocked if we don't land several of them.

But even if we don't, we're going to win. I am 100 percent sure of it.

Who cares if they work there a** off if we don't see results. Hewitt and his staff worked their a** off too.

We need transfer students because we need immediate success so we can recruit talent. My point being no one wants to go to a losing program. And yeah go ahead and list the players again. They haven't proven any thing yet, and neither has Paulson.

I am not saying they are not great fits, my point is really lets hold off on the praise until we know what we really have. I guess the same goes for criticism.

Stars shmars...i dont pay much attention to them either. Its more about roster building and I think DP is on the right track. However, its obvious, for example, vs Dusquene, they had horses and we had ponies. Im fine with a 2 star kid as long as you know in a year or two he will fill out body wise. And for me, Boyd and Grayer have that.

Will Thomas and Folarin, john vaughn were 3 star. Prob dropped to 2 star after signing though.

You've just made a very important point. Remember Jenkins was a 4 star for about 24 hours after he signed then got dropped.

Our highest rated recruit ever...Eric Copes. There are many 4 stars that should be 2 stars and visa versa. The truth is, you don't know what you're getting until they get to school and step on the court. That's why (especially where our program currently is) it is so important for the coaching staff to find those 4's listed as 2's that can fit in your scheme and buy into the program.

Yes this is football, but same principles apply.

By comparing the number of incoming signees from 2008 to 2012 to the number eventually honored at the highest level, we can arrive at these odds:
Odds of Becoming an All-American, by Recruiting Ranking
5–Star: 1 in 4.
Top 100: 1 in 6.
4–Star: 1 in 16.
3–Star: 1 in 56.
2–Star: 1 in 127.
