A shame you don’t understand how these contracts work. They aren’t “locked” into anything. Coaches don’t do this for one year contracts anyway and his buyout isn’t even at Hewitt’s level.
It's truely a shame. What a tragedy

Tournament was fun while it lasted. While the last game was a little disappointing, we landed the 5th seed which was way outperforming our expected finish, and our overall tournament performance was what you would expect of a five seed.

Overall, I think you have to rate this season a success for Paulsen. I like in his quote about next year that he basically says he has no excuses next year.

This is an overview of the Div 1 programs in the area and that no one is going to any post season tournament + preview for next year. A few quotes from DP:

"'Elsewhere in the Atlantic 10, George Mason didn’t begin the season with an ideal situation. The Patriots had just eight scholarship players, none taller than 6-foot-8, and the only senior on the roster was a walk-on.

The Patriots (16-17) took an overall step back from last year’s 20-win performance, but it might not last long. Junior guard Otis Livingston II is already among the top 20 scorers in program history, junior Jaire Grayer and sophomore Justin Kier are established backcourt options and sophomore Ian Boyd has shown a penchant for last-second shots late in the season.

With forward and Virginia transfer Jarred Reuter eligible next season, Mason could be a serious A-10 contender for the first time.

“You’re going to have all these kids returning, a year older, a year wise and a year stronger,” Paulsen said. “Then we’re going to add into the mix Jarred, you [have] a chance to be a real impact player. We love the two kids we’ve signed early. . . . For me, I didn’t want to take a shortcut in any way, shape or form with our culture. I feel really good about where our culture is right now.”

Paulsen also stated he has promised to personally learn how to draw up an inbounds play that works next season "I know we didn't have one good inbounds play from below the opponents basket all season. While our shortest player will still throw the ball in I promise to draw up a play next year"

What's the advantage of the shortest player inbounding the ball? Is it just because he trusts Otis to make the right pass?

It has to be trust which I get but IMO it's really dumb and didn't work once all season. But of course that is just my opinion and I watched 90% of games. I have to be way off. I would have Jaire inbound the ball and actually try and run a play to try and score

Anyone familiar with DP's history of using redshirts? So far (correct me if I'm wrong) we've seen him use redshirts on A.J. (academic reasons?), Relvao (knee?), and Reuter (transfer).

Since I'm assuming that we haven't had the depth or luxury to redshirt too many players, I'm just wondering what we may expect to see in the future. Does DP believe in taking "project" players to redshirt a year? Might we see some incoming freshmen redshirt next year since we will have improved depth?

Just a reminder that Paulsen has had the team finish better in A10 standings than the prior season in his first 3 yrs. Please remember that before you think about posting something stupid about him or the staff.

So you think his inbound plays and sometimes defense are not issues?

Didn't we have that one play earlier in the season where we ran a pick for Grayer and got him the ball in the corner and he'd hit a 3? But then Grayer stopped hitting that shot.

Does any coach not have these issues at some point during the season?
When an issue persists from game 1-final game even with a young team I think it's a problem. every team in the league has someone at least Justin's height to Jaire's height inbounding the ball in our offensive zone. We have Otis and can barely ever get the ball in. They run the same broken play every time. All I ask is variety and maybe run a play that it looks like they have practiced.

Stopped running it almost immediately. Could have ran it for Otis or goanar but stopped

Yes, but then you get into what type of laughter the post caused. Was it a hardy guffaw or just a mild chuckle? Was the laughter derisive?

Can't travel down that road my friend, I'm afraid. Pandora's Box.

Its mostly for your posts Jollay. I disagree with 80% of what you say but I hit the like button because you make me laugh hysterically (sometimes, literally). It would be nice to differentiate laughter from agreement.
