Vivature just gave Mason Athletics $210K. Brad Edwards posted a pic of him holding the fat check this morning.
Darrell..... you still here?
Green coached in the NFL Players Association Collegiate Bowl yesterday.
A couple interesting quotes "Green is happy mentoring athletes at George Mason while working with athletic director Brad Edwards"
“I didn’t get a degree there, but I feel like I went to school there. I felt like I was a student.”- I know I'm reading to much into this, but this is past tense.

Ok great but what has he done at Mason?
From what I know he is a figurehead!
I agree with everything your saying. I'm surprised I have not heard of any big donations outside of the McKay family though. From what I have heard is that DG makes it much easier to get an audience with prospective donors. They will at least have a meeting with the AD just to meet DG if nothing else. So don't underestimate the power of a "Figurehead"
And as anyone in sales/fundraising/recruiting knows, just getting someone to let you in the door and let you make your pitch is the hardest part.

...... consecutive NIT or even NCAA apprearache then ..................
Not sure what an apprearache is but looking at the makeup of people I see at vcu games, it probably gets you REALLY high.

That vcu edumacation did you wondersI am a vcu grad but my mother is retired mason professor (1970 - 1992). I was going to Mason games when Carlos Yates roamed the court. I still have an strong affinity for local teams including mason, maryland and georgetown.
My daughter now goes to Mason. We need something to root for around other than Lake Braddock football.
