One source on whether the start date gets approved to be moved on Wednesday to Nov. 21: “I think it should pass, but it’s still unpredictable.”

Division I Council set to vote Wednesday on moving the start of the college hoops season to Nov. 21. Source also said there will be recommendation of playing a minimum of 4 non-conference games and potential to start 8 hours/week to work with players - target date is Sept. 21.

As college basketball braces for Wednesday's announcement on a start date, mid-major programs everywhere are preparing for guarantee games to be taken away. Athletic Departments depend on this revenue.

Sources: While the Basketball Oversight Committee has bumped up its initial proposed start date from 11/25 to 11/21, many of the sport's key decision makers are concerned with opening a season against college football. This could also apply to 11/22 with the NFL.

Season ticket holders first. Screw the students and casual fans, they never come anyway. No Cub/Girl Scouts, no youth groups. Hard core, loud fans and drunks, that's it.
As I recall, half of the season tix holders don't show up either. Many of them either write off the cost of their seats or sell them to vcu fans.

In other words, we should have no problem restricting the arena to 2,500-3,000...unfortunately.

Honestly I think if they say 3k is the cap and the pull the adds off the corners any season ticket holder who wants tickets should probably be able to get a full season package. The patriot club plaque was looking extremely slim last year.

Agreed. Plus I'll bet there will be a drop in season ticket holder in general this year for a number of reasons. Fans tired of the Paulsen Regime, Corona Virus recession impact and don't have the financial means this year, people avoiding large crowds. I wouldn't be surprised if there's a 30%+ decrease in total season tickets this year even if season tickets are even offered.

https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id...ility-multiple-players-test-positive-covid-19:

"Tennessee Titans, Minnesota Vikings close facilities after Titans players test positive for the coronavirus

The Tennessee Titans have closed their facilities until Saturday after three players and five team personnel members tested positive for the coronavirus, the NFL announced Tuesday.

The eight new positive tests have been confirmed after additional testing, a source told ESPN's Kevin Seifert. Those who tested positive have been asymptomatic as of Tuesday morning, a source told ESPN's Dan Graziano.

No decision has yet been made about Sunday's game against the Pittsburgh Steelers in Nashville, a source told ESPN. The Vikings' next game is Sunday at the Houston Texans.

In a statement, the Steelers said: 'We have been in contact with the NFL regarding the positive COVID-19 tests with the Titans. We have been informed to proceed with our game preparations for Sunday's game until we are informed otherwise. We will provide more information when available.'"
