She has been named interim president. She had been serving as visiting professor at Mason's Schar School of Public Policy for a couple of years. For those with short memories, she is the daughter of Linwood Holton, former Republican governor of Virginia.

Why worry about her politics? She has connections to the State House, that’s all you need to worry about.

Angel’s politics didn’t stop him from letting the Law School be named after a right-wing judge or accepting Koch money.

The email I got also says Holton doesn’t want to become the permanent president.

I've had a few jobs like that to powerful women, and it usually works out to be a turn-on for all involved.
Successful women love me in a nice suit projecting masculinity at their every whim/command.

Would have been sweet to have known her while her squishy husband was out trying unsuccessfully to do the same for Hillary.

I like the ambition -- didn't know the Prince William campus was 1500 acres?? A medical school combined with a strong school of Nursing that Mason currently has is a smart move - but it will take some serious capital.

While there is some truth to this - they have done better in athletics of late.

With regards to Academic programs - Mason has done a very good job. Developing a research medical school in Northern VA - combined with our well known nursing program will cement Mason as THE institution in this area.

I’m about 75% sure our nursing program lost accreditation for like three years there and just got it back.

Thiel has covered some interesting things. Brought the Binghamton University (of all places) scandal to light in which the bball program went rogue to become successful in the America East. Not on success on a national scale mind you - but in the freakin' America East.

Nursing - now there is a field in which you can write your own ticket. Even when I graduated college back in '95 the nursing students had jobs before anybody else. I have a couple of relatives who have done the travel nursing thing. Good way to see different parts of the country.
