I am not sure what everyone is so upset about. I always hear how we need to mimic vcu’s maneuvers; we were just trying to one up them:

Colossal embarrassment: you have plenty of staff to coordinate things like this and check up on these items and put checkpoints in place to make sure stuff like this never happens. The whole entire process and staff needs to be seriously looked at and fixed - through the AD, assistants, mens basketball player personnel/ops director, this just can't happen in modern times. Complete letdown to the kids and fans - maybe this is one of the precautions to hiring a young AD.
Washington needs to intervene and put in a whole new checks and balances system with this personnel group to get this corrected.

I would imagine there have been some fairly uncomfortable conversations happening internally, but once again higher education isn’t exactly known for emphasizing accountability.
Also, don’t hold your breath waiting for the president to get involved. We can’t afford to have our few fans to be dropping dead from lack of oxygen.

According to this link below that was posted a long time ago, Team Travel falls on the DOBO.
Now, it seems like the company they teamed up with is solely to blame because of the package they offered, but our Administration should share some of this blame as well for not confirming flight schedules and bus schedules ahead of time.

It’s all just so puzzling.
Don't understand how the DOBO, Head Coach or AAD would not put meetings in place with the team and athletic department at least a month out and then 2 weeks prior to go over all of the logistics of team travel, when and where to be, transportation logistics to Dulles and at Bahamas, hotel and accommodation logistics, team events at the hotel/around town, meals, teams and locations of whom they are playing in the Bahamas, free time schedules, etc. Just dumbfounding how the lack of preparation existed for this to happen.
I go to a Salesforce conference and my marketing team and leadership teams have 3-4 meetings with us months and weeks in advance of this trip to go over every little detail with us lol.

The trip was subsequently canceled by the hosting company, despite several boosters and donors already having arrived in the Bahamas…

Big yiiiiiiikes, Mason better be making amends to Kathy ASAP. That is not good at all.
Kathy was NOT in the Bahamas. Any that were part of the official travel package were not as we got notice about 24 hours ahead of the departure time that things were going south.
I was caught up in delays caused by the crowd strike issues with Microsoft…I used this line when trying to pickup my car at 1am…it worked…got a nice EV upgrade.
