Lol. I hope it was clear that I was not posting my resume, just the list of reasons why March is an impossible time of year for me to get away for the A10 tournament.
As for the "tape on us" comment, what I saw in those two games is that Mason cannot withstand an all-out defensive barrage (kind of what we do to opponents, actually). The vcu and Duquesne losses, among other examples throughout the season, showed that it is very possible to get us rattled and that we like to make turnovers in bunches.
The way we won games was by outlasting our opponent. We'd let them hang around, because we have no offense, but they'd get tired before we did. What I learned, if I'm an opposing coach, is that I don't need to outlast them. I just need to frustrate them and rattle them for a short period of time and create a cascade of turnovers. Once they're in enough of a hole, they're probably not clawing out. So, if my eye is correct that our success hinged on them getting tired before us, I have an interesting blueprint on how to overcome that - especially if I'm in the lower-seed, nothing-to-lose situation.
Matching Mason's intensity for 40 minutes just isn't possible for most of the teams in our league this year. But if I can outwork them for 10 minutes, it might be enough.
