As a public school teacher, band director, and parent of a high level athlete and somewhat-committed musician, I have never made it to the A10 tournament. This is the first year I truly regret it. I see the writing on the wall, we might truly collapse. I also, though, see this as the first time I believe we could TRULY win the whole thing. My "eye test" is unusual, and I see something this year, even after this last week. Yes, the entire league has tape on how to beat us. But I think Tony Skinn is even better than we think he is, and I think the team believes in him.

In recent years (at least since I can remember and have attended in Brooklyn) the a10 has “general admission” sections and then a reserved seating area. Reserved is one side of the arena and usually across from the team benches.

Usually the general admission area are for those who bought through the schools, all session or individual sessions. Seats are not placed on priority points. I usually end up in the first few rows behind the Mason bench when we play with @MasonFanatic.

Based on who’s playing, those fans go behind that team bench. Once the game switches, then fans move for the next group on an honor system.

Yeah. I might be thinking of the ol' CAA days and how the Athletic Department handled tickets then. My bad.

I don't understand this "They've Got Tape on how to beat us" thought process.

What exactly did vcu expose in us? That turnovers lead to easy points for them? Correct. But no surprise.

Did the tape vs Duquense show that if you hit deep 3's miracles can happen, especially if you give them the ball 20 times? Correct. But no surprise.

Lack of structure and discipline, AT TIMES, on offense has been my main concern all year. Its not too late to fix it. Meaning, getting some screens set for our shooters to get clean looks. Bust out the Tony Bennett offensive playbook!

Tony Bennett didn't have much of an offensive playbook either. That's why UVa was the first #1 seed to lose to a #16 seed in the NCAAT a few years back. UVa knew how to play defense, they just couldn't sink a bucket when they needed one, or two, or three. But Bennett sure fixed that problem a season later when they won a national title. Let's hope the same holds for Mason! ;)

Please dont say this is "Mr. Holland's Opus".
Lol. I hope it was clear that I was not posting my resume, just the list of reasons why March is an impossible time of year for me to get away for the A10 tournament.

As for the "tape on us" comment, what I saw in those two games is that Mason cannot withstand an all-out defensive barrage (kind of what we do to opponents, actually). The vcu and Duquesne losses, among other examples throughout the season, showed that it is very possible to get us rattled and that we like to make turnovers in bunches.

The way we won games was by outlasting our opponent. We'd let them hang around, because we have no offense, but they'd get tired before we did. What I learned, if I'm an opposing coach, is that I don't need to outlast them. I just need to frustrate them and rattle them for a short period of time and create a cascade of turnovers. Once they're in enough of a hole, they're probably not clawing out. So, if my eye is correct that our success hinged on them getting tired before us, I have an interesting blueprint on how to overcome that - especially if I'm in the lower-seed, nothing-to-lose situation.

Matching Mason's intensity for 40 minutes just isn't possible for most of the teams in our league this year. But if I can outwork them for 10 minutes, it might be enough.

Yes Bennetts offense was regimented. However, a little of that at certain times, would go along way for guys like Maddox and Anderson. Anderson especially.

The Difference between vcu and Mason is vcu tires opponents out on both ends of the court. The Rams pass, cut hard off the ball and move it from side to side to get best open shot which forces opponents to expand tons of energy defending each possession then forces them to expend additional energy with full court pressure.

Mason, on the other hand, extends alot of energy pressuring the ball but the opponent gets to rest on defense because the Mason offense stands around waiting the ball handlers to do something. All the opponents 5 pairs of eyes balls can focus on 1 Patriot player.

vcu had some tough moments last night @ Duquesne. For a minute there, midway through the second half, I thought the Dukies had a shot to pull it off.

Anyone know where these seats would be?

Are they the same as the $50 a10 school seats?

This looks like it would be in the A-10 schools general admission section. Looks like someone is just selling the tickets they got through one of the program allotments. I'm pretty sure if it wasn't, it would be a reserved and assigned seat.
there are 2 other GA sections
1 behind the baskets and the other in the wings - bronze and green
A10 GA tix are Red GA

last year I was in NYC and went to every session
i bought from scalpers in front of Barclays
the most expensive ticket was $35 for the Finals game
paid $10 and $15 for the opening sessions
