Navy had the zone figured out and got the elbow/free throw line jumper at will.
please tell me you are watching this Davidson game vs High Point that is sitting two starters out for violations of team rules and playing their version of Jack Tempchin meaningful mins... Davidson is not good at all other than Grady and Lee
Didn't catch it but the supporting cast sucked last year and there's no reason to think it gets any better. I don't think anybody was really hyping them but there's a small chance they're really bad.
A10Talk, KenPom and many other outlets have them as a top 6 team in A10.... you also had them a ring above Mason I thought as well. I don't think we are all that but I think Davidson is worse than us by a fair margin

That’s great that’s one poll. Titus and Tate podcast had them 5th. A10 y’all had them 6th. Bad predictions
Not much difference between 6th and 7th (in the A-10 it almost always seems to come down to a tiebreaker)...but the A10 preseason poll is done by coaches and media (and they are wrong every year -- they have URI at 6th and they didn't look like the 6th best team in the A10 tonight). 7th might be too high for Davidson.

Jim- “We did a really good job in losing to a great young scrappy vcu team this year by 8 points. It is really tough to play them at the STU even with 0 fans. Damn those facilities and fan support really do help with recruiting and we can never catch up. So many quality role players in Stockard, Medley and others. The reason we can’t compete is lack of resources and fan support. But I do trust Paulsen. Hell of a job coaching in that tough loss against superior players. Next year should be a down year and I know our new freshman are absolute studs holy cow I’m excited”

Their new freshmen PG Baldwin played 25 minutes 3 points, 7 assists, 2 turnovers. It’ll be interesting to see how he does today against WVA.
I’ll hold off on saying good or bad at this point because I wasn’t super impressed, but I will say this is not the usual vcu team people are used to watching. They are going to struggle in conference play.
Other than the one nice alley oop he had to Ward, Baldwin really showed nothing of note. Most of his “assists” came from passing the ball to Bones and him hitting a 22-footer.
They really ran no offense to speak of and still scored 85 points. It’s all about being able to beat their press this season.

Saint Louis just beat LSU without Hasahn French and Fred Thatch. This is NOT a huge upset. Billikens could be the best non power conference team in America.
