I was calling Cornelius a dumbass for reference lol... Eric Copes got caught for weed possession about 2 times a week at the lowest part of his downfall once upon a time
Rhody 64 Mason 65... i like the way you think #tourneyboundSo..................back to the topic. URI is ranked #22 this week. Here's hoping they lose in the tourney finals to us so the league gets 2 bids this year.
URI barely beat Umass last night, 85-83. URI plays vcu Friday night.
Look ahead game.

I saw the last 5 minutes of that game. URI was up by 14 with around 6 minutes to go and UMass made a 7-0 run. UMass continued to chip away in the last 3 minutes as URI missed a fair number of free throws, even with some of their good shooters on the line.
I think in the last 30 seconds, there was only one time when it was a 1 possession game (URI by 3) with UMass having the ball. URI fouled Pimpkins (while he was dribbling just past half-court) with 1.8 seconds left. He made the first FT and deliberately missed the second. But he was called for a lane violation on the miss. URI in-bounded, throwing a long pass to the other end of the court, and the game ended.
Anyway, a less-than-stellar performance by URI in their last 2 games.
Curious on everyone's thoughts on how they want URI's situationt to play out. I feel like if they run the table, or come close to it and then win the autobid and get a decent seed that it's pretty much guaranteed that Hurley leaves at the end of the year. This is probably good for us but not the A10. I don't have any real ill will towards URI so I feel like I'd rather them make a run this year and then get knocked back down a bit going into next year.
Also Hurley is annoying as shit to watch on the sideline and I want him gone.
I want two bids for the league. So if we ended up playing the play-in game, so be it (or any other A10 team). Thats more $$ to us if the A10 gets two teams and we know we need all the $$ we can get. This year, I prefer if they run the table. If any team ends up beating RI for the auto bid, they would have a terrible seed and most likely get bounced out in the first round.

I dont care if Hurley stays or goes.

If there is a silver lining to the Atlantic 10’s subpar basketball season — one in which the conference has fallen into the unwelcome category of “one-bid league” after years of prosperity — perhaps it’s the prospect of almost all 14 teams playing with ruthless desperation in pursuit of an NCAA tournament berth in Washington in six weeks.
Only No. 22 Rhode Island might have an at-large safety net before the A-10 gathers for the conference tournament at Capital One Arena on March 7-11.
“You’ve got Rhode Island,” George Mason Coach Dave Paulsen said, “and then you’ve got everyone else.”
Barring an upset of the Rams, the conference is staring at a single NCAA bid for the first time since George Washington made a solo venture in 2005.
