Looking back, I remember Curtis McCants getting in trouble. Jason Williams? Jason Miskiri is in jail currrently. I remember when Byron Tucker got kicked off the team by Nestor when he punched a teammate. Also, I'm sure Nate Langley was in trouble with the law.

I know what Tucker, McCants, and Miskiri did, but what did Nate Langley purportedly do?

I'm certain that it couldn't have been anything worse than what Allen Iverson did before JTjr sprung him from a long-term prison sentence.

So..................back to the topic. URI is ranked #22 this week. Here's hoping they lose in the tourney finals to us so the league gets 2 bids this year.

URI barely beat Umass last night, 85-83. URI plays vcu Friday night.

I saw the last 5 minutes of that game. URI was up by 14 with around 6 minutes to go and UMass made a 7-0 run. UMass continued to chip away in the last 3 minutes as URI missed a fair number of free throws, even with some of their good shooters on the line.

I think in the last 30 seconds, there was only one time when it was a 1 possession game (URI by 3) with UMass having the ball. URI fouled Pimpkins (while he was dribbling just past half-court) with 1.8 seconds left. He made the first FT and deliberately missed the second. But he was called for a lane violation on the miss. URI in-bounded, throwing a long pass to the other end of the court, and the game ended.

Anyway, a less-than-stellar performance by URI in their last 2 games.

Very difficult for any team to go undefeated in conference much less have blowout wins every time.

Every team you play will have their biggest crowd of the year when you play them. Every team is looking to have a marquee win that will surely get national attention if they do. Everyone is bringing their "A" game to you every night.

I remember one year Gonzaga was ranked top 5 in the country and towards the middle/end of the regular season. They had 3 straight games against 200 and below RPI ranked teams where they won by 5 or less.

And they also lost to a #112 RPI team on the road.

Curious on everyone's thoughts on how they want URI's situationt to play out. I feel like if they run the table, or come close to it and then win the autobid and get a decent seed that it's pretty much guaranteed that Hurley leaves at the end of the year. This is probably good for us but not the A10. I don't have any real ill will towards URI so I feel like I'd rather them make a run this year and then get knocked back down a bit going into next year.

Also Hurley is annoying as shit to watch on the sideline and I want him gone.

This year, I prefer if they run the table. If any team ends up beating RI for the auto bid, they would have a terrible seed and most likely get bounced out in the first round.

I want two bids for the league. So if we ended up playing the play-in game, so be it (or any other A10 team). Thats more $$ to us if the A10 gets two teams and we know we need all the $$ we can get.
I dont care if Hurley stays or goes.

This is true and you're right. More teams, more money for everyone including us so I change my answer.

It's interesting though that the A10 has a very stingy payout compared to most conferences regarding NCAA tournament revenue sharing. A10 NCAA tourney teams keep 75% of their earnings and the remaining 25% is shared equally among all conference members.

The ACC as I understand it shares any and all NCAA tournament revenue equally with all members with the exception of a national championship bonus which the winner gets exclusively.

The last time GW ran the table and lost in the A-10 tournament, they were an 8 seed. There is no way they'd drop below a 10 seed (which is where i'd rather be than on the 8/9 line).

If there is a silver lining to the Atlantic 10’s subpar basketball season — one in which the conference has fallen into the unwelcome category of “one-bid league” after years of prosperity — perhaps it’s the prospect of almost all 14 teams playing with ruthless desperation in pursuit of an NCAA tournament berth in Washington in six weeks.

Only No. 22 Rhode Island might have an at-large safety net before the A-10 gathers for the conference tournament at Capital One Arena on March 7-11.

“You’ve got Rhode Island,” George Mason Coach Dave Paulsen said, “and then you’ve got everyone else.”

Barring an upset of the Rams, the conference is staring at a single NCAA bid for the first time since George Washington made a solo venture in 2005.

That article was in today's print edition. Well-timed given tonight's 7 pm tv game: URI at vcu on ESPN2.

I still think it is possible for a team like St. Bonaventure or Davidson to put together a performance worthy of knocking off URI with a tournament berth on the line. I'd be surprised if URI goes completely undefeated through the conference.
