So...four years ago we waited with intense speculation as to what seed GMU would receive in the NCAA Tournament. We now wait with intense speculation to see if Paul Hewitt will be fired. What a difference four years makes.

Four years later, Jim Larranaga has been vindicated. Tom O'Conner has been proven a buffoon. When you've got a good coach at GMU's level, you keep him happy and hold onto him. It's not as if you didn't have plenty of time to do so.

I'm convinced more than ever that it was TOC's ego that has led to the disastrous past 4 years. My God - if you read the press releases from Mason about TOC it would lead you to believe that his efforts led them to the FF. I think he truly believed that.

TOC, you made a great hire in Larranaga. He and his staff were responsible for taking GMU to the FF.

Your pettiness has destroyed that. Myself - just a fan of GMU hoops cringed at the departure of Larranaga and the hiring of Hewitt. A tiny part of me thought, "TOC must know what he's doing, he's paid a lot of money to do it."

Well, I and other simple fans were right unfortunately -you completely blew it. Glad you're having fun in the tropics or wherever you post your instagram pictures from. I guess you don't give a shit.

Four years ago, we were hoping for a high seed in the NCAA tournament. Now, we're hoping our coach gets fired. Thank You TOC. While we're at it, thank you Alan Merten.

The only good thing about this game was I couldn't see it in the hotel I'm at. I do want to congratulate the players for fighting until the end. This season obviously couldn't have been easy on them — especially with never knowing if they would be in the rotation two games in a row — but I never saw any quit in them despite having ample reason to.

I'm sure we'll see some roster turnover and maybe even lose a recruit or two once we fire our coach (is it a given, right?), but for the first time ever I'm not worried about that. If we have to start over, so be it.

TOC didnt hire Larranaga. Merten and the bov did. They didnt go with TOC's Jim Baron so the Hewiit hire was either an F U, or he is just that dumb.

Either way, TOC is gone. SO f**k YOU TOO HEWITT!!

Hewitt officially finishes below .500 in his tenure at Mason. Its actually an amazing feat considering we did win over 20 games in the first 2 years....wow did the wheels come off. I remember talking to Coach Houston this summer and he seemed to really believe that this years team would show major improvement from last years, better buff up that resume Roland.

WOW, I impressed myself even though its really sad. This was the first year since I started watching GMU BBall since 2000-01 that I didn't care about the end of the year tourney and completely forgot about it to boot. So sad. Hopefully the off season will be the beginning of something better for the program.

How anyone manages to lose 20 games with Sherrod, Allen and Jenkins (freshman season vintage Jenkins) on the same team is beyond me.

The A-10 was as good as it's ever been last season, and we lost so many close games.

How we managed to lose 22 games this season with a 6-11 all-conference center is truly a feat for the ages.

And yet, a fitting conclusion for the Fluffer. 0-4 against the previous laughingstock of the A-10. Guess what that makes us?

It has been a four year long prostate exam but it will end soon.

this shouldn't be a terribly long rebuild.

Royal is eligible for graduation this spring. Let him graduate and go to another school it will open up a scholarship.

next year we can have Thompson, Holloway, and Marko, and Jenkins change their attitudes and become ball players.

Moore is eligible for a transfer- and I don't think I'll miss him that much. Don't like his style of play.

Mayimba and Lockett wont want to sit out another year, so they are here for a while.

How can Porter and Jackson be unhappy? They started the last several games.

We can add a few JUCOs and Freshmen, it won't take long to get back to where we need to be.

We have no guards, they might want to get some of those

If we had a good pg, i could see using Moore as a slasher. He has good size and get into the lane. But we need a damn PG.
