Well I stand corrected. Maybe a trip to Balls Falls Ontario should clear my headIt's actually Intercourse, PA (https://lancasterpa.com/intercourse/) .... a noted "Amish country treasure."
But I get your meaning.

10+ years ago I knew some Communications and Marketing students were looking for internships as class credit. They wanted to work in the Athletics dept but the Communications and Marketing schools wouldn't recognize the Athletics dept as a "real" job; so no credit would be given. Not sure what the deal is now with something like that.View: https://twitter.com/englishscope24/status/1402586074212356099?s=21
I think stuff like this is great. I always wondered why we weren’t using students for stuff like marketing/graphic design. It gives them great experience and benefits the school all while getting people invested. Community engagement is absolutely off the charts right now. Anyone who is data inclined (I know there’s a couple of you floating around on here) should consider reaching out and offering your services to assist in data modeling/ statistical analysis. I know enough about it to know I’m probably not qualified to put together what he is looking for.
Hello...we got Petey!!
As I said, that was a few years ago where the academic side wasn't willing to play ball with the athletic side of the school by offering course credit. Hopefully things have changed.I saw that tweet yesterday only a few hours after he posted it, and it appeared he had already gotten a big response to it. I'm happy to see that because it signals sizable interest still in the program. As for this stuff with the Comms Dept. potentially not recognizing the AD as a "real job" and, thus, not giving credit for any work.... that's an embarrassment. It better not still be the case. But even if it is, hopefully that doesn't deter students because the AD can still count them as interns, and that's nothing for students to scoff at as it pertains to real-life experience after they graduate. They SHOULD get course credit, but at a minimum, get it counted as bonafide internship.
Tell me again why DP didn't embrace those guys?
