Bingo. Doubt Mason goes the lame duck route.

Of course they could, but they are pretty much delaying the inevitable rebuild by a year, and making it that much harder on the staff too because nobody will want to commit to a coach that doesn't have a contract for the most part.

But hey, never know.
Paulsen goes after kids with 0 scholarship offers anyway. Not much will change

Going the lame duck route would be the strongest signal yet that Mason cares not a whit about the basketball program. Given the facility investments that have been made, I find it extremely unlikely that the administration would go in that direction.

Barring a miracle, I think Washington and Edwards have to either cut bait or try to convince the fan base that Dave’s record justified an extension. I wish them luck if it’s the latter.

Yeah, like I've said on here and as you know, I don't get the vibe they "dont' care" if when I speak to them and I get told that they want the program to be fun to root for.

If they truly didn't care, I suspect I'd get different language like "we're doing the best we can" and "Its a tough league and the team is improving" and all the other company lines one can make up.

Can't wait for the press release where they applaud Paulsen for guiding this program through a pandemic and winning 4 A-10 games and acting like no one else is going through the same. Just wait for it

I'm going to guess, and say that Tony Skinn makes in the neighborhood of 200k-300k a year right now. A Mason offer would need to be in the area of 400k-500k with a fairly significant salary pool for assistants to help lure, probably in the the 250k-350k range.

Call me crazy, but I think it will take more money to bring in Skinn. And it’s not my money so, I say give him a million! It’s the least Mason can do with a final 4 banner

Maybe he’d give us an alumni discount?

If they do that, I'll immediately email a few folks saying that as a donor how I feel and basically send this graphic.

Working for a private school, it’ll be really hard to get that information, if not impossible.

He’s probably closer to $200,000 than $300,000 because Seton Hall doesn’t have football ... hopefully a chance to double his salary and coach at his alma mater would be enough to get it done.
Have to set him up for success. A generous salary pool for assistants would be a major help in trying to get some quality experience on the bench with him. Especially a former HC who can guide him on how to delegate and manage his time.

Absolutely, look at what Phil Martelli is doing for Juwan Howard at Michigan. It’s invaluable for a first-time HC to have that kind of experience sitting next to him in the second chair.

Texas fans were ready to fire Shaka. Now he is contending for COY.

Playing devil's advocate here. Feel free to shoot this down.

Another excuse to not fire him is if we finish season on a win streak and advance in A10 tourney.
