We got em beat........on handrails.
Probably don't have much choice considering they host NCAA's every year. Sounds like a hell of a lot of work. Wonder how much cheaper than just building new is.
Right. at some point in the next few years, don't we have to answer that question about EBA?Wonder how much cheaper than just building new is.

I'm hoping that's why we didn't see the practice facility added on to EBA like once planned. I'm hoping that's why they have dragged their feet on numerous upgrades to the roof and other permanent modifications. Maybe they are trying to get as much as we can out of the old gal and then go with a totally new structure.
Aren't we putting like $1 million into the locker rooms? But you are right, seems curious there hasn't been more extensive renovations to the place if they want to stay.I'm hoping that's why we didn't see the practice facility added on to EBA like once planned. https://www.vmdo.com/gmu-patriot-center-study.htmlI'm pretty sure Brad Edwards asked for a study on renovation vs. building a new arena when he got here.
Maybe, I am seeing things, but the Dayton arena kind of looked like a student center on the top.
EBA is not located in a convenient spot. But it be cool if there was a cafeteria/student center in the arena. Students could go there every day for lunch, or just to socialize like the JC. and then at night, the building becomes the basketball arena.

EBA is better than most A10 gyms.Just the cost of doing business in the A-10.
Have you seen how inconvenient UD's arena is for students?Maybe, I am seeing things, but the Dayton arena kind of looked like a student center on the top.

vcu's arena may be newer, but I am not a fan of it. It reminds me of a high school gym, a really nice high school gym.Depends on your definition of "most."
Better than:
Richmond -- not even close
Saint Louis -- ditto
Rhody -- no way in hell
Dayton -- uh, no
vcu -- nope
UMass -- maybe (their palatial practice facility gives them the edge, IMO)
We are, by my estimation, No. 7 in a 14-team league. That's not terrible but certainly leaves room for improvement.
The problem is, as our athletic department tries to play catch-up in the facilities arms race, schools like Dayton are pouring millions more ($72 million, to be exact) into staying well ahead of us.
We have one of the top coaching staffs in the A-10. That is obviously a huge piece of the puzzle and a cause for great optimism going forward.
But our fan base, such as it is, needs to significantly increase its commitment to the program if we want to compete consistently at the top of the A-10. There is simply no way around it.
no never been there. But I was just saying it be awesome if the areana also served as a student center. But EBA isn't in the middle of all the academic buildings so I dont see EBA replacing the JC.Have you seen how inconvenient UD's arena is for students?

Not saying EBA is better than Dayton's, but I really don't like the way the concourse weaves in and out of the seating area. It just felt really awkward.
