Get one every year. I feel bad for them... very few of them seem to want to be cold calling people. I sure as hell wouldn't want to.
I got mine today, and I'll be honest, I loved it. I had never gotten it before, and it made me want to contribute more.

I agree, I love the concept and I enjoy getting the call, I just feel for the kids who really don't want to do it but still have to!

I think they need to hire or contract out to phone sex workers for this. The awekwardness would be eliminated because well these people make a living on awkward conversations and there is always the potential for increased revnenues because of the talent.

This is probably a dumb question, but who schedules the teams schedule. The AD, or the head coach or combination of both?

It's obvious our coach can straight out coach, he has proven his ability to recruit. I'm looking forward to kicking P5 a** in the years to come.

I'm pretty sure its the coaching staff that decides and schedules the games. Although I bet the AD does have some input/vetoing authority in the games played. I remember years back an assistant coach posted on a website designed for finding opponents to play.

It could be different in some places, but in my experience coaches have total autonomy to set their own non-conference schedules. League offices handle the rest.

I get my thank you delivered in person.....rarely awkward - save for the walk back home...

The AD would get involved if a scheduling deal involves multiple sports as a package deal, like Northeastern and Michigan State recently did for men's and women's hoops and hockey.

We need our AD to get us into the Battle 4 Atlantis tourney. It pays $2mil per school.

2018? Would be a great time to make a splash.

Would love to finally get into the Maui Invitational, too.

Great Point. The way things are looking, Im hoping 2018 is our "Repeat" year!

The bold portion of this quote from http://www.outkickthecoverage.com/all-that-and-a-bag-of-mail-050517 caught my eye for obvious reasons:
The University of Alabama is in the process of becoming an outstanding academic institution. They are doing what we all hope schools will do -- use athletic success to lead to academic success. Athletics are the front porch of every university and there's no doubt that in addition to winning four national titles at Bama Nick Saban has also turned the school into a national destination.
