Not trying to compare the 2, but Jalen barely got off the bench for an ACC team and ended up making all-conference in both the SoCon and A-10.

It’s extremely difficult to be successful as a 6-8 post in the power conferences. Would I take a combo of Strong and Adebayo at the two forward spots for Mason? In a New York minute.
You would be okay with starting a front court of Adebayo and Strong?

I’ll be curious to see how Sivka fits into the plans next year. I don’t know that he’ll be a starter, but he looked like he had a high basketball IQ and depending on how well he does over the offseason in his development, I wouldn’t be surprised if he was.

Brandon Jennings is leaving the portal and coming back to vcu.

I hope we can convince Haynes and Ball to jump out and return too. Would be one less big and one less shooter to have to worry about and do a ton to help with continuity (only three returning players now, which makes me depressed a little).

I know it’s a different situation, given vcu lost their coach.

I was assuming Martin was a pg for some reason and thought it would be surprising if we were still in on him after getting Mincy - is he more of a sg?

I think I saw Martin was more of a combo guard. Think more like an O'Connor.

Begg to the portal … handwriting was on the wall when Mincy committed.
He looked good as a freshman, tell me he wouldnt have flourished if he was in the Big South at Presbyterian. Could he really not battle Mincy for the starting PG spot? Not worth it? Or did Skinn kick him out?

What a weird time we're in. If you arent guaranteed a starting spot, you're gone.

I highly highly highly doubt Tony ran him off.

Justin is a Texas kid who was recruited by Mike Ekanem, who obviously is no longer in Fairfax. He also just got recruited over. Not surprised at all he’s looking for a place to start — it’s how it works these days.

This is getting ridiculous! Only O'Conner and Stas remain from last season's very successful team. And there's still almost two weeks left until the portal closes.

I don't think Begg got recruited over at all.

What's wrong with rotating two PGs? How many players play 40 minutes per game?

Do these kids really get homesick so easily and severely that they have to run back to momma?

Are they really about not wanting to compete to be a starter or improve to better success?

Is it really all about trying to find the largest bag of cash for doing nothing other than playing a sport?

Is CTS and the coaching staff a bunch of jerks behind the scenes?

I'm not crashing on Begg. I don't know why he wants to leave. I just don't understand the lack of a sense of commitment with these kids.

Every generation says this about the next generation, "They're a bunch of entitled little pricks." I never thought that was true, and I'm almost two generations removed (GenXer). But it seems to be getting closer to reality.

I'm sick of this mess. It's too hard to build a successful team in the long-term without continuity. I hope Tony & Co. is up to that task. And I hope that this whole system one day stabilizes. I don't know why it's driving me NUTS... it just does.
