Looks reasonable for us. St. Joe's has beaten us 3 times in a row, that I've seen either in person or streamed, and I'm fine being on the opposite side of the bracket from them.

i saw posted somewhere that there were 8000 people at EagleBank for yesterday's game

This box score shows attendance of 2456

can someone who was at the game confirm 8000?
I assume it was just hyperbole.

I was there. It certainly was closer to 2500. Not a bad crowd for a woman's game, with many small groups of preteens in basketball uniforms.

Interestingly, when I bought my ticket the day before at the box office, I asked how big the crowd would be. He said something like there were 97 seats left, then seemed to back off indicating that there would be plenty of seats.

I know Coach Blair-Lewis was promoting "Pack the Bank" for Senior night at the Coach's show last week and there were a number of promotions--rally towels, Pack the Bank tees for students, a proclamation from the Fairfax City mayor, and Kevin Durant's mother as honorary coach which featured a video on her when her son tearfully thanked her for all her support while receiving the NBA MVP a few years back . All part of what they were doing for the beginning of Women's History Month.

It's conceivable that they had various sponsors buy up blocks of tickets but they certainly didn't have 8000 people attending, although the crowd was enthusiastic.

Friday quarterfinals can be streamed on Peacock. Are there any watch parties scheduled around Fairfax?
I don't subscribe to Peacock and wouldn't do it to watch a single game.

Does anyone know why the women played only 29 games this season?
18 in conference but only 11 instead of 13 OOC games?

other A-10 teams also played less than 31 games

I don't have the answer to this, since we did participate in an MTE, which should have allowed us to schedule 31.

Maybe we can schedule a game next week if we need an at large boost? (This is a joke)

I assume the A-10 women's programs that scheduled less than the maximum number of authorized games (like George Mason) did so due to scheduling issues (e.g., their conference tournament occurs 1 week prior to the men's) or financial reasons.

I don't believe that any of the women's programs in the Big Ten played 31 games prior to their conference tournament, which also occurs 1 week prior to the men's. Unless I'm mistaken, their conference schedule was reduced this season from 20 to 18 games.
