Keeping winning and we’ll get a Feinstein vote!
We are relevant again.
NET ranking went up from 74 to 66
Currently at 58 now. All this means nothing though if we lose to vcu at homeNET ranking went up from 74 to 66
Yes we can. We don’t need to try hard at all the rest of the year. Teams will just see our Net ranking and get so intimidated that they will not get in our way. Which is a smart strategy iif they know what’s good for them.We can only play the teams in front of us, but we can't rest on our laurels.
Not to throw cold (or at least lukewarm) water on celebrating yet another upward movement, but Kenpom has our Conference strength of schedule so far as the easiest of the 15 teams.
We can only play the teams in front of us, but we can't rest on our laurels.
Indeed, I willingly admit to being pleased that we continue to pass tests on a regular basis. Hope we can keep it up! Just trying to prepare myself for moderating expectations.Yes. Our schedule is very favorable. It means our margin of error is razor thin.
But you have to admit, however remote the possibility, it feels pretty cool to talk about it at this point in the season as a legitimate chance.
Me too.Indeed, I willingly admit to being pleased that we continue to pass tests on a regular basis. Hope we can keep it up! Just trying to prepare myself for moderating expectations.
Op updated1/8 update:
More dust has settled and UMass has solidly taken Duquesne's place in top 5. Due to sheer laziness I'll leave Duquesne on the list and keep it a top 6 - but starting 0-2 with the losses they have has probably dropped them out of being able to get into at large picture with a stellar conference record, but they can still serve as a good win for other teams. Their next 3 are Dayton, Richmond and @ SJU - yikes.
We remain in surthrival (thought I just invented that, but googled it before I made the claim and nope ) mode until potential huge showdown with SBU at home on 1/20.

Updated1/10 update:
The dream is over - no undefeated conference record. Net dropped a bit with loss to vcu at home, but this is probably one of the 5 games we all knew would be the toughest on our conference schedule.
Forget about it (until we see them in Brooklyn) and move on with slightly tempered expectations going forward. A win @ Richmond would offset the vcu loss in a big way and would be our best win of the year - if we can win the next two we will set up another huge home game vs SBU on 1/20.
