LOL some random dude says our schedule is better than Dayton's and we believe it... He also has us in the bottom 1/5th of scheduling from 2017-2022 but I am sure that doesn't work for the narrative people have been pushing on good OOC schedules since the DP days.

Since the DP days? We're still in it really, i.e the pre season tournament this season. It'll get better during the KE era but it won't happen over night.

They have really been trending up since they traded in their Larranaga acolyte for an actual coach

I know Planet Earth and these boards will trend up as soon as it trades in its Larranaga acolytes as well

I guess this is a good (or bad) a place to put this as any other. The song "Famous Friends" reminds me of Jollay for two reasons. First, the general sentiment of the song seems to describe Jollay in that he is famous on these boards and around Mason.

Second, at the beginning of the song it sounds like it references our Jollay specifically:

"...And good old Jollay, he's the life of every party
It's like Cheers, they know him everywhere he goes
I've got some famous friends you've probably never heard of..."

P.S. It doesn't really say Jollay, but it sure sounds like it when you listen to it.

Saint Louis, Dayton, and vcu (I HATE them so much) are loaded. And, we have all 3 just once, on the road! Thanks schedule makers. At least we have 2 with Loyola. Time to deliver KE.

I don't think Mason has won at St Louis in recent years but they actually have been half decent at Dayton and vcu over the last few years (I think). It might actually go better than we think.

We'll see.

vcu isn’t loaded, they have a ton of question marks. They’ve just earned the benefit of the doubt that they’ll come up with good answers. Having 2 excellent guards is a great start in that regard.

Have been better against vcu on the road than home (unfortunately).

I think it’s the opposite with Dayton (although we beat them away a couple of seasons ago when Obi was a freshman I think?)

I don’t think our record against SLU is very good either home or away, but would have to look into it.

Edit: we have won 4 games against SLU since joining, 2 home, 2 away. The last time we beat them was 4 years ago in the vaunted 11-5 2017-2018 season. We swept them in 2015.

Overall our record against the top programs (vcu, Dayton, SLU, Davidson) over the last 14 years is pretty sad and you don’t want to see it.

Barking up the vcu is overrated and Mason is better hill each year and being consistently proven wrong is tiring. I will wait to call them overhyped and overrated when we finally finish with a better record and have a PG that can walk and chew gum at the same time. Oduro and Ticket would start on vcu. Not sure anyone else on our roster would...

Maybe Bailey(really gotta see how good he is "really goof from the scrimmage I heard")... From what I heard from the scrimmage Justyn needs a little time to acclimate and be a great player (which is completely fine by me)

Didn’t say they were overrated — just that they’re not “loaded” with talent the way they were a few years ago. Shaka’s best vcu teams would wipe the floor with the guys they’ll trot out this season, it would be a bloodbath.
