Josh Oduro - on the First Team - is the only GWU player to make any of the 3 Pe Season All Conference Teams

I am surprised to not see Ticket -i hope this lights a fire under him

Yeah. At 10.2 Pts, & 8.1 Rebounds (not to mention his 3P%, Blocks and Steals) I think there's a strong case for him to have made the third team at least. They put Okoro on third team (10.8 & 8.1) but otherwise feels like scoring average was the biggest factor along with team performance (Dayton & SLU w/ 8-of-18 picks)

Malachi Smith on second is an interesting choice. Guess they're expecting a big Soph. jump.

Ticket will make it over Quisenberry, Freeman and Nunn at the very least... 4 Saint Louis guys is hard to believe because that is a lot of mouths to feed... I personally think Okoro has a better year than Jimerson

Braden Norris is as old as some of our fans so for those that didn't follow Loyola you should enjoy someone from your own era. Thank god Little Bryce Golden didn't make the list, I would have puked

Quisenberry and JImerson fill up the basket. That always counts for more, even if they take a lot of shots to do it.

Freeman and Nunn and both Sophs., so media is likely basing off of projected jumps and not solely on what they accomplished last year. Nunn's scoring and rebounding was solid, not spectacular, but he was close in blocks to Ticket and had over twice the steals. He's going to be a pain in the a** on defense in their system and paired up with Baldwin.

A-10 Media Day Predictions

Its always virtually impossible to predict how it will actually play out, but a few things are obvious here. I'm also stating obvious but regardless.

1) Cream of the crop is Dayton SLU and vcu. They have the talent, they have proven they can win and are the top programs in the league.
2) Programs who were at the middle and towards the top previously (Davidson Richmond, Bonaventure) are impossible to predict because of all the newcomers or a new staff.
3) League obviously still lacks confidence in the bottom feeders like Duquense Lasalle and St Joes. Makes sense to me, and have to think Billy Lange's days are numbered. Dambrot may not be far behind.
4) Mason has some hype around the league to be 5th but with top 4 upside. I think we all know why they were 5th and not higher by now. Can Mason somehow sneak into a top 4 spot?
5) Loy-Chi as a newcomer is expected to be an excellent and good addition to the league. Nobody expects them to struggle.
6) Other programs like URI/UMASS/GW/Fordham still have to prove success with their new staff. At least one of these programs will be in the pillow fight (bottom 5). I have to think adding the coaches that these programs did, will help the league and I won't be mentioning them in the bottom 5 in another year or two.

GIVING DAY 2023
Any reports back on Mason Madness?
I saw like maybe 10-15 minutes of the Men's scrimmage on the video stream. Take for what its worth and someone who was there can correct me otherwise. Generally hard to tell how hard the guys were actually going at it.

-Looked like the usual type of crowd. Maybe 3000. Everyone looked to be enjoying the festivities.
-The first part of the men's scrimmage was meh. Turnovers and some missed threes. They settled in after a few minutes and then looked much better. They looked to be running some plays where Cooper would get open, or Oduro would get the ball and shoot the 3.
-Justyn kept trying to hit a three and hit maybe 1 of like 5 or 6. The form is great and they weren't far off the mark.
- They were moving the ball fast up and down up the court. There was no walking up.
- At one point Cooper scored 5 in a row, and Oduro made a few threes in a row. Good to see from both of them.
- I saw Singleton, Polite, and Dinkins run point. Nothing out of any of them that scared me or worried me.
- Ojiako had a nice post up move against Oduro.

Crowd sang happy birthday to Josh at the end, and CKE reiterated that he wanted us to be loud and enthusiastic during games this year. Also mentioned how hard the guys are working to get Mason back to where we all want them to be.

Any reports back on Mason Madness?

The wrestling team did a hilarious cross-dressing skit that made everyone laugh, the dunk contest was insane, they had three-on three games between the fraternities, everyone was partying and dressed up, and at 12:01 they launched into their first practice of the year. It was amazing.

Oh wait that was 1993. I didnt go this time but heard there was a cool lay up line and urbanology performed for 38 minutes and nothing remotely objectionable was uttered by anyone
