I believe somebody owes me a dollar or something. I recall telling someone (maybe you) that he would get other solid offers. Too lazy to look back though. The BBW porn addicted 25 year old juco soph transfer landed at Wichita St. good for you Matt McFarlane
Yea verbal commits didn’t even have Wichita st on it until today so idk what to tell you. It probably was meI believe somebody owes me a dollar or something. I recall telling someone (maybe you) that he would get other solid offers. Too lazy to look back though.
If Mathis is better than Hartwell and XJ they should sign him. You win with better players not a better roster makeup. Ask Bona who played 5.5 dudes this year and rolled the rest of the league. Get the best 7-9 guys mins and the others will leave on their own anywaysMontez Mathis is in the portal. 6'4 guard out of Baltimore who is leaving Rutgers.
Not sure Mason needs another guard, although if Cooper plays that 2/3 and Schwartz is more of a 3/4, I could see them wanting another 2/3 guy. It would certainly put Polite/Hartwell/Johnson more into the PG rotation and have Gray be pretty much bench warming for the first year.
I agree on the need for another guy at the 2. Gray can help fill that role as the secondary ball handler beside whichever PG we have on the floor. I wouldn’t bet on him warming the bench if he’s healthy.Montez Mathis is in the portal. 6'4 guard out of Baltimore who is leaving Rutgers.

I’m still intrigued by Jordan Hairston as a shooter.
For what it’s worth vcu wants Hairston. Not sure if KE is looking at the kid or not. I personally hope so.maybe gray steals Hartwell minutes or XJ if he isn’t healthy. But it’ll be up to those guys to lose the minutes so to speak. I’m sure Gray will need time to adjust to d1 ball.
One thing I saw about Mathis was that he defends at a really high clip. Even if he’s not the best shooter that could be something that’s valuable. No idea on what English would want or would even be interested of course.
I’d have to look into Hairston more.

Based on that highlight reel Mathis never misses a shot. Sign us up!
Just like us in practice under DP. LOL. To put up 25 in the Big 10 is an achievement.Based on that highlight reel Mathis never misses a shot. Sign us up!![]()
Coming back from an ACL tear. HUGE potential upside. 7'0" and 235.Dallas Walton is now following Mason Basketball on twitter. #EyeBallsEmoji

Getting someone vcu wanted and then watching him tear them up...priceless!For what it’s worth vcu wants Hairston. Not sure if KE is looking at the kid or not. I personally hope so.
Yikes, that is a concern. Greg Oden knees?
I’d take those odds. Lightening doesn’t strike....4 times? We’ve got scholarships to fill I’m cool with taking a flier on one of them.
This sucks for the kids professional future. No doubt. But for our purposes, this is all reward and no real risk for Mason since he's a senior. He won't eat up a scholarship for multiple years if he gets hurt again. But a legit 7-footer with athleticism could do some real damage in the A-10 and perhaps well enough to get looks from a few teams overseas.
