This kid can play, he’s a 6’7 MAN. I was shocked when I saw the video highlights.

Surely he backed out of his commitment bc someone told him he could play at Mason. Right?

Hate to agree, but that was literally my thought as well.

But maybe Paulsen breaks through with one of these guys? Gotta keep the faith as long as he's here that he'll pull in guys like this at some point.

I understand the sarcasm, many of my posts are based on that. But, one of the things that many on here seem to agree on is that Paulsen's recruiting has been sup-par. It seems hypocritical to then criticize him when he is reaching for higher level recruits.

we are technically -2 on scholarships for next season (if Kier returns and we offer this kid). I think the best question is who else is leaving? unless they heard Kier cannot get a medical redshirt (which is impossible as teams fight tooth and nail for their players up until the end of summer

It’s plausible he decided he’d like to just move on or redshirt and grad transfer.

But that still doesn’t put us under the scholarship cap so idk.

He was committed to ETSU, is he really a higher level recruit? I don’t see an offer list that says he is. Offers and ratings are the only thing my unprofessional basketball eye can go off of.

You guys are all nuts... kid has been looked at by Texas and Nebraska but OFFERED by ETSU, Kennesaw St, Winthrop, Charleston Southern, UALittle Rock, Lamar, South Alabama, Kent St and NJIT.

Come save the program Cam...

kid is a leaper though with the flair for highlight plays. wonder if Paulsen will kick the screen on any ally oop attempts since those aren't how you play the game

But he was set the graduate anyway as was Boyd. Their scholarships have been taken. If no one else on the roster transfers we are at 13 for next year.

Which means someone is at least thinking of transferring.

I have to wonder why he hasn't gotten some higher level offers. Lets just hope its lack of him getting noticed versus grades or a character issue.

I don't follow ETSU but feel like they are always on the bubble, so I looked it up. Since Steve Forbes took over in '15-'16, their record has been 24-12 (2nd place SoCon), 27-8 (NCAAs), 25-9 (2nd place SoCon) and 24-10 (t-3rd place in SoCon). They were on the bubble last year and are again this year at 20-4 overall and tied for 1st at 9-2 in conference. They handed LSU their only home loss of the season to date. Their NET is 48.
FWIW

Until he proves he can sign higher caliber kids, then its all it is. A reach.
