3 star big man prospect Jared Garcia has committed to Charlotte. I know we are probably out on everyone left but I am still going to update on the guys we offered if I see it. Another New Englander.. he chose Charlotte over Bonnies, Middle Tennessee, JMU, and Iona.

Rhode Island just picked up a commit from local kid Ishmael Leggett from St Johns. He had offers from Depaul, GW, Charlotte, Illinois, South Florida, Wake Forest, Lasalle, Richmond, St Joes and some others. Anyone know much about this local guy? @CHRISTOPHER JAMES JOLLAY very good set of offers and Cox continues to be able to recruit in the DMV

JMU didn’t offer Kier. That seems even more egregious than URI not offering Kolek.

Hopefully he can drop a ton of 3s on their team so they can wonder why they didn’t even look at him.

URI is 100x better than Jmu and pulls in high quality guys. Obviously Jmu missed but that’s expected. uRI is not

This is true. But it’s also interesting that of the top 15 prospects from New England, URI is only attached to 1. In fact, not a single player on their roster (or incoming freshman) is from New England. Maybe they don’t really like recruiting in their own region? They seem to love the DMV.

I generally just know a lot about the nova guys, but always heard nothing but good things about Leggett.

I'm kind of in the middle with how Paulsen has done recruiting-wise, but I'll say this. Much harder to recruit the "leftover" talent in the DMV these days since Campbell/Thomas. So many stronger programs now in Virginia and schools elsewhere recruit the DMV way harder now than they used to.

The backyard thing is funny...seems to happen more and more these days. I always found it funny JMU didn't offer Kier, but yet they hit a homer with Matt Lewis from O'Connell, a local guy that would fit like a glove at Mason (top shooter, legit 6'3"-6'4").
