We didn’t get #FridA10 last week BUT this will help make up for it! Tomorrow night’s game between Duquesne and Dayton will now be broadcast on ESPN2 rather than ESPNU! Tip-off still slated for 9:00.

An estimated 50 students will attend tomorrow night's #DuqMBB contest vs Dayton at the UPMC Cooper Fieldhouse. These individuals were determined by a lottery. According to AD Dave Harper in the first hour alone, there were over 230 requests.

"FAIRFAX, Va. – The George Mason University men's basketball team will battle Dayton on February 5 in UD Arena as part of the A-10's ESPN Friday Night Showcase series.

The Patriots and Flyers will tip-off Friday at 7 p.m. on ESPN2. It's Mason's first appearance on The Deuce since the Charleston Classic Championship Game in November 2015.

Friday's game, featuring commentary from Mike Corey and Seth Greenberg, will mark the second meeting between George Mason and Dayton in the Buckeye State this season. The Flyers won the first meeting in UD Arena on January 2."

There really is no time to makeup these games unless more games get dropped later and we fit them in (like the Bonnie’s and now Dayton).

I didn’t realize until now that Dayton hosting Richmond this Friday was the original plan. I guess keeping the location the same saves ESPN money on having to reroute trucks. Still wish the game was going to be played in Fairfax, but alas.

Just guessing but the philosophy is probably to play games when you can because you never know when any of the 14 teams are going back on pause....

Have we regressed since the last time we played Dayton? Last time, we kept it a 2 possession game and were right there in the end. The blueprint to beat Dayton defensively is there -- does anyone have any faith that we'll be able to execute?

Dayton also has more than 6 scholarship athletes available for this meeting... still incredibly thin down low (but so are we and have no injuries or school issues). Crutcher is en fuego lately and our guards won't be able to make a single stop on him if he wants to take over the game. Dayton by 11

Due to COVID-19 protocols and the Wildcats’ current pause from team activities, Davidson’s contest at Fordham scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 6 has been postponed.

This allows us to fill our bye week and avoid 7 days off, while also opening up February 24 as a potential make-up date. The last three Wednesdays of the season (2/17, 2/24, 3/3) are now all open dates for us.
