This has been my argument. Mason Has never fully committed to the move. If they aren’t willing to do what’s necessary to compete they should have stayed in the CAA.You are absolutely correct! But, what is most striking is that the other 3 programs that joined the A10 since 2012 (Butler, vcu, & Davidson) have done so much better than Mason has. Like the basketball practice facility, I would grade the move for Mason as incomplete.

What did Davidson do to adjust to the move? Or vcu for that matter?
They both completed their basketball practice facility.

One feature that couldn’t be depicted digitally are the acoustics. “I have never been in a gym [where] you can literally hear someone talking to you while a basketball is being bounced,” one Best Project judge says. “They changed the acoustics in that space so that the coach didn’t have to yell over people and the basketballs being bounced.”

Interestingly, Mason has the same lead design firm as vcu had. Any guesses when Mason will complete its basketball practice facility and academic center - https://giantkiller.co/2016/05/12/a-look-at-the-old-proposed-mason-basketball-practice-facility/?
Good question. If I had the guess, they don’t have the money for it. Will they do a capital campaign? Who knows.
Wonder if there will be limited ticket sales in line with current VA restrictions.

Atlantic 10 news: The league has selected Richmond AND vcu to host its 2021 conference tournament, a source tells @CBSSports. The schools will split hosting duties through the semis. Richmond will host the title game. Tournament runs March 10-14, same bracket format as always.
Mason joined the A10 in 2013, built a half a** facility in 2017...So nothing, they've done nothing extra. They just had the right in coach in place, our program did not, it's pretty simple

They didn't really build a facility, they renovated and repurposed an existing one. Had they built the RAC from scratch, it would have cost them something like $15 million. I don't have a problem with this strategy, to be honest (the RAC as an athletics facility is pretty nice -- had they went ahead with the original plan and expand and place it inside the Patriot Center, I'd be fine with that too), so long as they finally get phase 2 off the ground.

The 24-point margin of victory is Duquesne's largest ever in an Atlantic 10 road game. #GoDukes
Trivia question: Name the former Patriot in my avatar?
