Texas A&M just gave him an offer so count him out now. Buzz will be paying for his services.

If Paulsen could win this recruiting battle with all these other schools remaining interested and there’s no red flags with this kids eligibility, I’d begin to change my opinion of our situation.

This^^ Mark my words, if we can sign this kid I'll shut up about Paulsen's ability to recruit for an entire calendar year from the day he commits. I'm more than willing to eat some crow.

One recruit doesn't change the team, but this would be a signal that we are heading in the right direction.

Chances of landing this kid are under 1%. It would be an amazing get and would shut up a lot of us around here but it’s not gonna happen.

I hate situations like this. These power 5 teams like A&M will offer a kid that normally wouldn’t get an offer because they have a scholarship available and there is no risk. If the kid happens to work out - great. If not (more likely), they give him the boot and we’ll see his name in a year or two in transfer protocol.

We’ve seen it dozens and dozens of times, yet most kids, parents, and coaches fall for it every time.

Some free advice - if you only had low offers and power 5’s all of the sudden start offering during the summer, an alarm should be going off.

looks like our staff and team had a great day yesterday.

Staff played a round of golf in the morning, and then took the team to the new Dave and Busters at Fair Oaks mall in the evening.

I don’t think you’re being fair to the kid. His status as a qualifier changed. These schools may have thought he was talented enough and wanted him all along. But they weren’t going to offer him unless he was a full qualifier. Just a guess.

Schools do not have wait for a kid to qualify before offering. How many 9th graders have qualified academically? Yet, you always read about early offers to young players.

Obviously him qualifying has opened up new doors, but his list of interest before his new ACT score was Kansas State, UNO, Louisiana-Lafayette, Northern Colorado, Idaho State, New Orleans and Elon. That’s quite an upgrade.

True. But I think all the clues point to him exploding because of becoming a full qualifier. No coincidence with the recent offers. This kid didn’t develop his athleticism over night. However, he did become a full qualifier over night. Hence the 13 offers (and counting) in the 3 days since.

In fact, I think you contradicted yourself pretty heavily there. So what alarm should be going off?
