We're definitely not as bad as some people here think, but it does pain me that we're maybe not as good as we thought we might be. I'd say we are somewhere in the middle with a lot of time to figure it out. Here's hoping that happens.

we barely beat a bottom 50 team today and we aren't that bad?!? Southern is borderline D2... American is trash.. yes we lost the toss up games in GA Southern and Penn (after Penns second best player blows out his knee 3 mins into the game).. so yes we are pretty bad

I stand by what I said. We're not as bad as some people here say. That doesn't mean we aren't bad or even that we're good at this point.

Were you in the gold room when Simpkins spoke about American? He went back through 2 years of tapes, and saw players that were hurt in that time span that played on the night we played them. Time will tell if that was a bad loss or not.

Penn was picked 2nd in the Ivy, and they won the Ivy last season. If we got blown out in either/both of those games, I would be worried.

I agree that Southern is trash. Mason was up 8-12 points much of the game until they gave back some points at the end. I wish they won by more but I’ll give you that. Georgia southern is a good ball club and they love to run and gun. That was a bad oman for Mason since they don’t play defense or get back very quick. Still sucks they blew a 20 point lead.

As Washingtonian said, the book is still out on American. It’s still inexcusable that Mason lost a buy game to a Patriot League opponent, but at the very least they are 2 and 1 and played Northwestern close. As much as we can say Mason is awful and the results haven’t been great, I do think they will improve and still have a chance to be a good team in league play. I’m hoping they start putting things together over the next few games and show some progress. That’s all we can hope for at this point.

missed last weeks gold room as I am in Costa Rica.. did watch the game on ESPN+ though.. American's players are all low 2 star quality. Their record being horrible last year had injuries contribute to it... but they are still not a top 150 ranked team regardless and we should be easily handling them at this stage in our program.. again Penn is good... should beat them when their 2nd best player jacks his knee up 4 mins in... and their 3rd best player sits out almost entire 2nd half with 4 fouls.. but we didn't

definitely hoping for a turnaround.. would never root against our team. would love to be wrong... but they have to figure out a TON of stuff to turn this around. being incapable on defense will get you torched with our upcoming schedule.. With how fast and physical teams like Cincy/KState are those are going to be 15 pt spreads that Vegas is probably correct on

Southern - 0-4 (Bama, L'ville, Baylor - all 20+ blowouts).

Definitely agree. If we think Reuter can’t move against Southern guards just wait until high major guards drive by him. We usually see a team ready to play in these tournaments thankfully, so I’m hoping the trend can continue. Hopefully they’ll have a really productive week of practice and video watching to look and improve on deficiencies.

It's tough. Ran out of words that rhyme with sucks. And I've already used "Nut Sacks" with "Fairfax" too many times.
