Been hearing a rumor for awhile, now from multiple people, that George Mason will be playing Louisville this Nov. A buy game situation.

I'm about 4.5 hours from Louisville and it's where my wife and I got engaged... might have to make that a family trip.

Also might have to wear my Luke Hancock Mason jersey.

You know the real reason Louisville wants to play us. Pitino wants to steal another of our players!

We let Monmouth steal a walk on, he stole Luke. Probably just window shopping though.

Holy hell, just realized Luke was 11-1 in Ncaa tournament games (did not play in our loss to OSU due to food poisoning/sabotage from OSU fans). That's pretty damn incredible.

Um, I'd say that's about as favorable as it could be! Only regret is not having RI visit Fairfax.
I don't think we are going to want to watch that game. A10 is going to be very competitve 2-9 this year. Rhode Island should be really really good

Talk to Jollay before you get tickets if it happens. Was planning a visit to Louisville anyhow to visit my kin. Will definitely wrap it around a game in that case.

Anyone else at the 1991 Mason at Louisville game? I thought not.

We lost.

Yea, I do too. Just don't think it is end of the world to play the far and away best team in the A10 on the road and play someone closer to us at home instead

I'm pretty sure Dayton and St. Louis are both further away than URI, but the home and aways have to be rotated and they played in Fairfax last year.

Reading comprehension on these boards :bricks:

Do you think he meant permanent home-and-home partners? I'm not sure G M U necessarily meant that. It's not what I meant either. It could be what Sleeperpick implied, but it's not explicit in his post.

If you're eluding to the post before where Sleeperpick implied that we're going to get blown out and thus better to be blown out on the road than at home, I doubt buy that argument.

But if you think anyone meant swapping one of our three permanent partners with URI, I agree, not a good idea.

He was not referencing physical distance at all. Yes, he meant better to play teams at home where home court advantage could turn an L into a W. He thinks RI will beat us either way, but playing at home may give us the edge or at least a better shot against Dayton and SLU.

Unless, of course, he subscribes to the infamous "home court disadvantage theory".
