Which all of this elads us too....DOES MASON HAVE THE FUNDS TO GET A COACH or are we going to settle for the low priced rising assistant?

If your source is correct, KA, why would BBB waste his own time interviewing Prohm if he knew we were gonna have to hire on the cheap? For show?
We might not be as bereft of funds as you might think. We could be competitive.Which all of this elads us too....DOES MASON HAVE THE FUNDS TO GET A COACH or are we going to settle for the low priced rising assistant?
Why not, even if you think you don't have the funds?. Esp if you think there's a bigger fish about to swallow the same bait.
No once will care Mason had no money, they'll just see Alabama ringing the cash register.
Then you have cover for why you think your next up and comer is a "Home Run."
Playing Devil's advocate, interviewing an A-plus candidate like Prohm but not being able to land him doesn't exactly bolster the BBB meme. Makes him look weak and ineffective.
If Prohm was willing to come talk about the job, I have to believe Edwards thinks we at least have a chance.
He is an Alabama alum. No way he takes whatever offer is on the table from us before talking with his alma mater. Let's hope Alabama wants someone else.If Edwards met with Prohm, it's because he has every intention of bringing him in. Whether we have the money to meet his demands is what remains to be seen. What bothers me is that Prohm left for another interview after meeting with us.
Rather than Edwards allegedly using Prohm as a pawn to appease fans, my hunch is that Prohm could end up using us as leverage to get another job. Even if we had to use waterboarding, we never should have let Prohm leave without signing on the dotted line.

Exactly, Walt. Why wouldn't he go straight to his alma mater first? Just doesn't make sense. Sounds like something a Scott Boras client would do. Get an initial offer on the table, then go interview for the job you really want.
Prohm's base is $300,000. He's not out of Mason's price range. But if Bama wants him, they'll most likely get him.
Otherwise, I don't see why $500,000-$600,000 base with big incentives wouldn't get it done. Mason would be a stepping stone should he be successful, but I'd rather have to deal with that problem as opposed to being the a**hole of the A10.
Maybe we just have to throw in a free night with ACW and Big Red in the "candy van" and that gets us over the top?
It's not the face that you f*ck, it's the f*ck that you face...
If reports are correct, Alabama is swinging for the fences with Gregg Marshall. Plus I don't get the feeling that there is a lot of love for Prohm by Bama fans. He would be our big hire. Mason fans would love the hire. Bama fans would think they had to settle. However, money talks and Prohm would get over that real quick for the right price.
