I don't root for the NFL football team in town, but we need to recognize they play Tampa at 1 on that Sunday, Nov 16th.
Hopefully you mean the Redskins and not the football team that plays in Baltimore but gets coverage like the home team.

5-2, for every fan you pick up with an 11am start, you will lose one as there are some people who go to church on Sunday mornings. Now, I'd be all for having a 6pm start, but at 11, I won't make it.
good point. competing against church and the NFL is a tough proposition for a program in our situation. Maybe I don't like the Sunday part of a Friday-Sunday start to the season.....

I think Nov 14th and 16th games are doubleheaders with the women:

Mason will tip off regular season play Nov. 14 when in-state foe, Virginia Tech, comes to the Patriot Center for the first of four home games in nine days. The Hokies are the only non-conference visitors the Patriots did not face during the 2013-14 campaign. The two programs are no strangers, however, as Mason has faced VT seven times dating back to 1986 and last meeting in 2009. Tech currently holds a 5-2 series advantage.

“Whenever we can play a team out of a conference like the ACC it’s great for the players and the fans,” Milleson said. “It’s a strong start to the season, that’s for sure.”

The Patriots will the host Morehead State on Nov. 16 followed by Delaware State on Nov. 19 before wrapping up the home stand against the College of Charleston on Nov. 23. Mason faced all three opponents on the road last season with a win over Morehead, the first under Milleson.

Mason is playing St. Bonaventure in Rochester, NY. Game is over winter break and I imagine SBU has a lot of alums there.

Very good spot, JimP. I just doubled-checked that with St. Bona's website:

4 nbc/cbs games. 1 or 2 espnu games via the rico tourney. Local rivalry game vs gw on a10 network?? Does that mean its being streamed? Clearly the networks dont like showing what Hewitt has to offer and who can blame them. The downward skid sucks.

"A10 network" usually gets picked up by channels like SNY and MASN. I would be shocked if Mason doesnt get a few other games picked up by MASN as well, as I think those usually get announced closer to the season.

Far from the truth.

Now my outlook on this coach is very bleak. I just don't see him progressing when he's only been regressing while having more experienced players. Truth hurts Paul..err I mean gmuraider.

I've got GSII's back on this one. He is not the the prick in real life that he portrays here on the boards. And just to be clear, he complained a lot about the Old Cuban Man when he was here, too, so it's not like his negative schtick is reserved solely for our new coach.

Mason currently is accepting bids for it's TV production of men's basketball. Here is part of the contract - bids are due next week:

Mason’s home court is the 10,000-seat Patriot Center that offers of an exciting game-day atmosphere and features one of the nation’s best pep bands – Doc Nix and the Green Machine. I like the Friday - Sunday games to start the season in the Ivy League. In all seriousness, I do like having two games that weekend at home.

I don't root for the NFL football team in town, but we need to recognize they play Tampa at 1 on that Sunday, Nov 16th. Regardless of their record at that point, we should tip at 11am so we can get done before the NFL kicks off. We need all the fans we can get to the Patriot Center, so if we tip at 11am so 50 additional die hard Mason fans will come watch our game first and then head home for football, its worth it IMO.

According to Princeton's website, tip-off is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. - see http://www.goprincetontigers.com/SportSelect.dbml?SPID=4231&SPSID=46550&DB_OEM_ID=10600.

I believe the "Atlantic 10 Network" is a re-branding of the SNY broadcasts we got last year. If so, they'll also be shown on CSN-Mid Atlantic or MASN.
