"FAIRFAX, Va. The George Mason women's soccer team (1-15, 1-7-0 A-10) will play their second to last game of the season, as they will host longtime rival George Washington (3-9-3, 0-6-1 A-10) at George Mason Stadium on Sunday, Oct. 15, at 5 p.m.

Not only is it Family Weekend at Mason, Sunday's game will also be Mason's Alumni Game. Former Patriot soccer players will be recognized at halftime for their dedication and contributions to the storied Mason Women's soccer program."

"Because of their proximity to each other, the Patriots and Revolutionaries have faced off against each other quite often since George Washington started their women's soccer program in 1993. In those thirty years, Mason has dominated the head-to-head matchups with a 23-3-5 record.

Mason's 23 wins against George Washington are more than any other school they have faced in its program's history."

"LAST TIME OUT
Last Sunday, Mason hosted longtime rival George Washington on Alumni Day at George Mason Stadium. The Patriots won their second game of the season and first match at home by the score of 2-1.

The Patriots took the lead in the 53rd minute, thanks to a Molly Starner rebound. Off of a Mia Casciani corner, the ball bounced around dangerously in front of the mouth of the goal. Freshman forward Molly Starner was then able to finally put away her first career goal by squeezing the jammed ball out of the bottom corner of the goal and over the goal line. Starner had a game-high five shots with two on goal.

This also marked Mason's first goal scored at home all season."
