"Javon Greene (McDonough, Ga.) hit a pair of clutch three-pointers down the stretch to threaten the Auburn lead. He connected from downtown at the 7:18 mark to make it a three-point affair, and after the Tiger lead swelled back to eight points, Greene drilled another triple with 2:28 left to play to make it a 55-52 contest.
The hero in Monday night's comeback win, Greene looked to repeat his performance against the nationally-ranked Tigers with one more look from beyond the arc to tie the game with 47 seconds remaining, but his shot fell just off target.

Makes me kind of sad. He showed so much promise as a freshman, I thought he'd be an all conference player ( or very close to it). I guess it was injuries that did him in. Met him briefly in my 1 game experience as one of Coach Paulson's "sideline" coaches. Impressive young man.
On the other hand, he'll be getting his degree, which in the long run will be helpful in offering him some career options to chasing a basketball career.

In hindsight, it is a real shame that Tony Shaver didn't get a chance to finish out coaching Nathan Knight's senior season. He might have had them dancing for the first time.
As someone that grew up in Williamsburg, that move felt similar to the disrespect paid to Phil Martelli on his way out the door. Granted, I am super biased to like Coach Shaver.
Agreed, I don’t know if firing him was the wrong move given his history of mediocrity, but I think he can win the CAA that year with the roster he had.
Fischer has gotten worse each season as he’s gotten more of his guys in. Going to be a complete rebuild down in Williamsburg, which will probably be tough given the academic standards.

Shaver had those W+M teams humming back in the glory days of the CAA. Unbelievable that he never got them to a tournament after Mason, vcu, and ODU left.
Just looked at the schedule - four of the losses are American, Norfolk St, Howard, and Radford, three of those by double digits. That's what you get for looking at Paulsen ball and saying "I want some of that."
I really thought Fischer was going to turn that program around. It’s still early, but that record is trash.
