In that case, I would have loved for him to stick around. He could have helped fill the void at point guard we've had since Jordan Carter graduated.

Has there been a string of worse luck than at "point guards" we've recruited? Cam Long (better off the ball), Andre Cornelius (better off the ball), Bryon Allen (better off the ball), Corey Edwards (big disappointment so far). At least Marquis Moore has a lot of potential.

Yeah, our record getting pure PGs isn't good. However, it's not like they are easy to recruit-- and I doubt it will get easier (despite the move to the A10). Simple fact is there just aren't many talented, ready-to-play floor generals coming out of high school that don't get swept up by the bigger programs.

We've swung and missed at some quality PGs lately, so it's not like the staff is totally ignoring the situation. It only takes one...

Allen was never really seen as a pure PG as a recruit. He was a guard who tried to become a PG after he committed, because we needed one.

You do realize he's on this board... That said, he shot them high up most of the time because that's what he was told to do, since those new fans give you the most bang for your buck on giveaways.

I held my breath every time I shot a shirt towards one of the sides. I was just hoping not to bring down a banner. Considering I shot over 900 shirts (8 shirts per game X 15 games per season X 8 seasons) over 8 seasons I'm surprised I didn't hit banners more often. Many games few fans were sitting in the corners so the sides with banners hanging were the only place to shoot. There wasn't a lot aiming involved since the shirts rarely shot straight. Most would either hook or slice. Mostly it was just pointing the gun towards a general area.

I always wondered if can you dial in a specific pressure setting on that thing? It actually seemed like it was a little too powerful for the Pat center.

Maybe the guys figured, "What the hell, if there isn't a t-shirt gun, I'm not making any threes.". They too, are embarrassed with the lack of throwing ability by the male cheerleaders.

I'm sitting here watching the UNC vs Texas game, and the announcers talk about this being Rick Barnes 16th year at Texas. WOW! Time does fly. It seems like only yesterday that he was recruiting the team that the coach that shall not be named took to our first NCAA. And to keep it in perspective, he also coached an additional 10 years at Providence and Clemson between his Mason and Texas jobs ... I feel old.
