That was a great interview, especially him dealing with the recruiting call and coaching up a player on air. It's amazing how far we've come in the sense that our coaches used to say to guys like Copes, "Catch the ball less high."

Love how busy this guy is. Getting a recruiting call WHILE on a radio call WHILE coaching the guys up in the gym. Kim English gets after it.

But I'm not gonna dwell on it. I shared my druthers. That's it. I'm not the language police on here. That's up to the administrators. I won't mention it again.

Why less money. They still charge the same tuition but don’t have to offer the students any services.

Most athletic departments remit scholarship money to the university for tuition payments for students on athletic scholarships, one exception is the Ivy League with no athletic scholarships so some form of financial aid and payments from the students are used to pay tuition

Without athletics the part of the university that collects tuition payments has lost that cash flow from athletes

Not sure I’m following ByGeorge’s take here for the piece about practice Weren’t we just complaining that we probably practiced too hard, which is why we had nothing left at the end of the year?

Too many times, it felt like Mason had nothing left to close out games and even seasons under Paulsen. This needs to change.”

Again we all need to hold all of our praise until we see the product on the floor. I am excited also but this man has never coached a college game. Also wait and see on recruits...

Maybe I've missed it, but I've not seen any praise for CKE's coaching accomplishments at Mason yet.

What I have seen is plenty of renewed excitement about the hire, the new direction and praise for how CKE has handled himself in interviews and his interactions with current players that are wavering in their commitment to Mason. I don't think any of that needs to be held back at all.
