A lineup with KD, O’Connor and Billups at the guard spots is one our opponents will very much not enjoy trying to score against. Don’t be surprised to see that at times when Tony is trying to protect a second-half lead.

He did have one season (21-22) with lots of starts and had a higher ppg that year - 12 pts, 2.9 steals, 3 rebs. I think he’ll return to that kind of contribution with us!

Can't really worry about that. Maybe he gets minutes, maybe he doesn't. Its win and win now! Just way it goes, get best you can and put together best 13 you can possibly do. Or he learns and takes over next year but either way that's his choice.

I can't imagine he would be ready to jump to the portal.

Johnson is a 5th year guy, and he also knows that if he works hard he will see the floor in the backcourt with him or Quigley. He just doesn't have to be counted upon to play major minutes right away, which I think is a great thing for any true frosh.

That said, if Begg impresses, he might burst on the scene and get minutes some minutes. Probably not as much as Baraka, but he will get time.

I love what he brings from a basketball stand point but f**k I hate him as a person. I’m an ole miss fan as well so I watch a lot of sec ball and I couldn’t stand that auburn team, usually because of him and Broome. Hope I enjoy him on ours but I’m skeptical as hell

It’s a fair question, but I think the general answer is - it doesn’t matter.

I’m excited about Begg, and of course we want him, but with the nature of the game these days you have to always take the best available for next season while assuming every player may leave at anytime.

The flip side to this is freshmen should be made to realize the depth chart they are looking at their first year will in all likelihood be drastically different the next year.

I am STOKED about this. I think this is a massive get for us. This guy is an absolute menace, I still can remember him taunting Ronnie up and down the court a few years ago when we went down there. I think he’ll be a great scoring guard, and his ability to get to the rim and defend will pair well with Maddox’s skill set. I’m finally starting to see what Tony’s plan is for the season and I like the pieces he’s bringing in. Just a couple more holes to fill and this could be a borderline top 3-4 roster. I like where we are heading right now.

I think they are already at 3/4 right now. vcu lost most of it's team. Tony has fixed the Loyola issue of not being tough enough. I'll leave one spot open and Dayton will still be favorites. Tbd on what everyone else does though.

If Holmes goes pro as expected, Dayton is gonna have a hard time replacing him. Even their fans realized he was the only thing separating them from being a mid-pack team.

Dayton is losing Holmes, Elvis, and Brea. They A10 is wide open next season I’d say.

Yeah and who knows what kind of player Malachi Smith is going to be after all his injuries.

I’m sure Grant will get some good players in the portal. He was able to get Bennett and Santos last season. But there’s no guarantee who is going to hit or if they’ll cohere as a team.
