Returning seniors do not count against the 13 scholarship limit this year. It's how Richmond is able to bring back their guys and still have freshmen coming in.

The question was whether Kier could somehow count as a "returning senior". I'm sure the answer is no, but I thought it was worth an ask.

You are correct on returning seniors not counting against the scholarship count but I highly doubt that Kier would fall into that category. But, if I worked for the AD I'd been on the phone with the NCAA trying to get a waiver to have him count as a returning senior or get him a waiver. Doubt it would work though....

Thanks for the info. Def didn't realize a returning 5th year player didn't count towards the 13. Seemed like KE didn't actively try to retain AJ or Javon. I wouldn't have minded either of them staying. But it would have caused issues with PT and the development of our younger guys.

Kier and Kolek at Marquette could actually do the impossible and make me root actively for a Shaka-led team.

Guess we'll see if "closer to home" really is/was his motivation, though.

Why would our former players playing for a hated head coach make you root for them? It's players that left us on purpose to play for someone we don't like.

Well I'm kind of a Marquette fan anyway and I really don't hold any grudge against Kolek and Kier if Shaka is who they want to play for. Plus I like both players/persons.

I mean, I won't be sending MU money or paying to see a game or nothin'.

Same for Miller. Hope he does well and enjoys his bottom quarter ACC season.

I would never begrudge you developing a grudge...I encourage it.

If you develop a healthy hate for Kolek and brand him a turncoat I will do nothing but support your hate.
