He will be back at bucknell the day after we fire him. There are many teams below Mason on the pecking order who would be glad to hire Dave. Could see him going back to the Patriot League. He’s not gonna have to be an assistant.

Absolutely. I'm not saying he is a bad coach. His teams play hard, he gets good kids...he's an AD dream.

CAA, Patriot, etc......perfect places for him.
How would you have felt about us replacing L with a fired A10 coach in 2011? He’s going to have to spend some time outside of being a HC before someone gives him a shot I’d imagine. We hate on P5 retreads and y’all are talking about an A10 retread.
He didn’t prove that his last two years at bucknell lolWe can hate on them all we want, but there would be no such thing as a “retread” if ADs didn’t have a propensity for hiring retreads. He’s proven he can win at the Patriot League level ... somebody who is unhappy with their current coach will snap him up and be happy about it.
Paulsen may WANT to coach at the next level....but the ability will be based on his resume...which at this point....wont sniff him an interview. Hell, Dane Fischer would get an interview first right now.
As for the new President....we shall see. I firmly believe most Presidents (outside major football schools) just wait to be told from the AD on what needs to happen since most are still academics at heart. It really comes down to Edwards.

11-7 and 13-5 in a bad conference does nothing for me. Especially since his teams were 5-7 and 6-10 out of conference those years1st, 1st, 1st, 4th, 1st...not bad.
I think there's a particular profile of P5 coaches and guys who do more with less are not on the top of the list.
I'm sure I knew this before, but did y'all know Paulsen's only kenpom top 100 teams came with Muscala? His best non-Muscala team was kenpom 123 in Marquise and Jalen's senior season, then 156 in the Reuter year. He hasn't had a top 100 offense or defense without Muscala either. Defense was Kenpom 113 the year Muscala left, then he doesn't have anything else in the top 150.
Again, I'm sure I knew that already but it washed over me again the other day when I was looking at kenpom. There's some evidence he's a limited coach who lucked into an NBA talent one time.
Also I really hope Kier stays.

Do Patriot League teams frequently rank in the top 100 of KenPom? I honestly don’t know, just curious.
They do not! Only Bucknell (5) and Lehigh (2) have done it since 2011. Lehigh was the McCollum years. So not necessarily a knock on him coming up to the A10, but definitely a knock that he hasn't had one here.
But, still, if you're a lower tier team in a lower tiered conference with limited resources, you could do a lot worse than 5 first place finishes in 6 years. Is his record here worthy of sticking around the A-10? Not so far.
He also lost to Siena and Colgate and holy cross all dumpsters. He did play four P5 teams that last season and they lost all of those games.
