I’ve been to Olean. The only thing “Lean” about that place is the name. The average Townie is pushing 260+

And the ones who aren’t gravity challenged look like strung out skinny drug addicts.

My God-daughter lives in Prince William and studies at Mason and lives on campus. Liberty Square.

To think a move to George Mason is a great upgrade?

It can be for him. It gets him out from Schmidt's shadow and gives him an opportunity to prove he can "be that guy."

No doubt in my mind that this is a step to prove himself worthy of a HC position. And if he does that, it's because he helped Mason be competitive. Win-win.

I totally agree it might be a good move for Curran. He was not getting a head job from Bonas.
What qualifies as success at George Mason? The Final Four run was magnificent, but there hasn't been any since joining the A10. I guess size of the school hasn't really helped as you have always been one of the biggest in the A10. Just has SBU has been one of the smallest. Has your location changed? You guys have always been located in the "hot bed" of high school hoops. What have you done with it? In this era of the transfer portal is high school the way you want to go anyway?
Just think if SBU plays your team once a year for the next 8 years and loses every year the head to head record will be even. I will leave you guys alone now. I {like most of the league] have not really concerned myself with Mason. Maybe that will change with your new coach?

Mason had Larranaga when it was making the postseason. SBU has had a great run with Schmidt and of course had several lean years prior to his arrival. Guessing Schmidt would be successful in the ACC like Larranaga has. SBU fortunate Schmidt has hung around. Whatever the differences in the schools, unexpected basketball success came to each school when they had great coaches. BTW, many Mason fans blame former SBU AD (and then Mason AD) Tom O'Connor for taking Larranaga for granted.

Tim - I would be wary of HoopsAdmin - I crossed one of the various lines and he put a deer head in my bed and took a dump in my living room floor after stealing a six pack of expensive beer. Apparently such retribution is clearly laid out in the terms and conditions for using this site.

And we knew each other in college.

Just need to get that first commitment out of the way and then the flood gates may open. I imagine it's hard for guys to see how they may fit in to a team that barely exists right now.
