At our level they certainly do. Encouraged to see Blake at least rebounded the ball well against elite competition, that’s something to build on.Not passing judgment, just quoting stats. Big men take longer to develop.
I caught the 2nd half. No real insight, but my guess would be that Spain seemed to be a little leaner and quicker. Jones looked a little more comfortable on the perimeter than the other Aussie bigs. He was also used in the press (looked like a full court man to man) on the inbounder a lot.Final score Spain 86 - Aus 73
According to the box score Jones played 31:12 which begs the question why were his minutes limited in previous games? Saving him for when it really counted?

To be blunt the Aussie team just isn't that good. There are one or two selfish players who seem to have a me first attitude. There have been times when Blake has been wide open for a 3 and the guard will penetrate and chuck it up rather than find the open man. Defensively today Blake was put at the top of the zone and/or press which greatly limited his chances to grab rebounds. Don't get me wrong, he needs to get stronger and play with an FU attitude. But, the tools are there. It's going to take some time and confidence for him to bloom, but when it all clicks he has the chance to be special.I caught the 2nd half. As an A-10 school that’s all you can ask for. It’s up to Blake and the staff to get him to his ceiling, which at least on the college level seems to be pretty high.To be blunt the Aussie team just isn't that good. Since the Aussies are in the losers bracket it will not be on ESPN+. Your best bet is You Tube.I might be able to watch some of this bc the baby loves to wake up around time
