I had to order the blank version (retails for $60, but you can find it cheaper - I got it for $38 on amazon) and then I heat pressed the logo on myself. A couple years back I got a vinyl decal cutter and a heat press and now I just make my own stuff. Pretty easy to do as long as the logo isn't too small or has too many colors.

It is incredibly lame that people have to do this to get decent Mason gear.

I’ve had recent conversations with the athletic department about this specific issue. They want to offer more and are working on it, but the Adidas rep goes back to the numbers and says the demand isn’t there. It’s a chicken vs egg debate because he’s looking at old Adidas gear that was just stock designs and not basketball specific - offer on the court type items and sales will increase. My argument was that we want to wear what the players and staff wear, not just a generic Adidas design. If you offer those items, then sales will increase. Our athletic department does understand.

I know the rep is willing to do some custom orders if you have the interest (I think Kish did one for the sweatshirt Dinwiddie had on at our practice), but it’s much easier for me to make my own than to find 10 to 15 other people that want them and have to collect money and ship them out - not to mention I can do it for a third of the cost they charge.

So you COULD HAVE used the full logo but chose to use only the star???!?!?!?!?!?

1) I had to make it authentic like the staff wears.

2) I enjoy the star... and as it runs through the machine I always think of how much it tilts you.

I have a green Jansport 1/4 zip that I bought about 10 years ago. It says George Mason University across the front in gold. (And of course I have FF gear with the MasonStar on it.) But I'm going to hold off buying anything else in hopes that a new and cooler logo(s) will be forthcoming.

I was pretty excited to see a lot of new gear for some mid-tier team today (some basketball specific). I see UMass. I see Rhode Island. I even see UNCW. Guess who I don't see?

One reason our shit hasn’t sold well over the years is because we’ve almost ALWAYS had only lame stuff to buy. I haven’t bought anything Mason branded in ten years.

Me either. The last thing I bought was a Jansport quarter zip sweatshirt that said George Mason University on the front...with no stupid star logo.
I do have a FF cap and T though with the logo.

I don't believe this issue falls on our administration. From my dealing with the athletic department on this, it seems more like an Adidas and bookstore deal.

I also don't think Fanatics taking over the online space of our bookstore is a plus. Just looking at how the "Rock With Us" shirts were handled and how they are bookstore only - I have a feeling anything the bookstore tries to do will only be available for in person and not online.

The people in our athletic department have had meetings with the bookstore and Adidas - my impression was both feel like the numbers don't justify offering more. I just don't understand why they would offers some items like a replica baseball jersey (no offense to baseball), and not a basketball jersey. I'm sure the baseball jersey was just a stock blank white one that was 3rd party decorated to add the MASON, but if you are using that as a basis that Adidas team gear doesn't sell, then we are screwed.

At this point, I would be happy with a fan order similar to what the team did in 2016 when they opened a team store through https://impactgroup.us/bigteamstore/

^^^^This! It's hard for the AD or sales reps to say the demand isn't there when we've never really had the opportunity to buy official team gear. I'm a big fan of some of the pullovers and shirts the team has been wearing this year; I'd easily buy 5-6 items if they were available.

Yes! I refuse to buy jansport/champion/russell generic junk. You can’t compare GMU gear sales to other schools when this is the level of what we’ve been given for 20 years.

I agree, but I've gotta say, my old jansport quarterzip with George Mason University on the front, is very nice! My problem is, I've lost 30 pounds since I bought it and even with washing and drying, it's still waaay too big now. Looked for another one on line. Did I find one? Noooo, of course not.
So yes, our school apparel stinks!
