If we are going to have brand identity, we need to stop using the wrong color green on all of our shirts. Look in the crowd at any given game and you will see 4 different greens from "official" Mason clothing. Cabrera had a lime green shirt on the other day. It's ridiculous.
Speaking of terrible branding decisions, has anyone else noticed the Mason banners on lightposts outside the JC as well as some of the paintings inside are all different colors (purple, red, blue, etc...)? What a really dumb thing to do. Same thing at the Arlington campus. Very community college feel.

Was doing a search on the interlocking gm logo and apparently the school trademarked some new logos recently.

Here is the old logosheet info from 2013: http://trademarks.gmu.edu/files/logosheet.pdf

Here is the updated logosheet from January of this year: http://trademarks.gmu.edu/wp-content/uploads/2017/02/georgemason-01.png

You can see the addition of new interlocking GM's on the new sheet for athletics use only:

Pretty interesting. I don't hate them. I wonder where/when we'll see them? Any teams use these yet?

Nike sponsors the best (Duke, Kentucky, Team USA, LeBron James etc.). If we want to be the best, being sponsored by Nike this is a must.

Agreed. But if Nike offers us 10% discounts at Foot Locker and adidas offers us $1,000,000/year I can't argue with the decision to go with adidas. Now, if the offers are anywhere close to each other I think you go with Nike/Jordan in a heartbeat.

I don't mind them. If we're ever going to go back to being "George Mason" and not "Mason" having that at half court would be cool.

My guess is they are probably for baseball/softball, but you would think if that was the case the new Mason baseball jerseys would of had them on it. Who knows.

Since when did we stop being "GMU"?

Last I knew, GM was General Motors.

Nitpicking, I know, but it just seems like there's never been any real clear direction in our branding. Thought that was changing under Edwards, but maybe not.

Baseball has always used the interlocking gm on the hats, so hopefully it's just an update on those... My guess is we don't see it anywhere else (if we even see it there).

Not bad looking. The number should be even with the GM, but all in all those look good.

I have no problem with the offset number - some teams got with even, some go with offset:

I read something somewhere that we are trying to go 'Mason' rather than GMU to get away from confusion with JMU. I can't find it in my googling - will post when I do.

Maybe it's just personal preference. I like how the Yankees don't even have their number on the front. But either way, it still looks better than Arizona or Louisville.

I don't hate the look, I am still a fan of Mason though. When someone asks me where I went to school I always say Mason. If I say George Mason they get it confused with James Madison.

Does anybody within a 3 hour radius of Fairfax actually say they went to *George* Mason rather than just "Mason"?

I normally say "George Mason" to people who aren't from around here, and "Mason" to people who are. For people in other parts of the country, there's almost never any confusion with James Madison. They pretty much have either never heard of Mason at all, or they immediately make a Final Four comment.

The interlocking GM for baseball needed to be updated. I like the new version. I was just going to comment on how the letters needed to be thicker.

The new softball uniforms use "Mason" ...

I like the softball jerseys. Not thrilled with their "star-only" hats. And why is one girl wearing a tan Adidas hat?

I thought we should have gone to red, white and blue when we moved to the A10. Anyone aware of a team nicknamed "Patriots" that don't use red, white and blue? Especially when the school is named after a founding father of our country, whose colors on the flag are red, white and blue.

But if we are going to stick with green and gold, lets go a bit darker like the A's:

I would love a yellow top like that A's jersey. That is sharp!

I wish we had a second lid to wear... didn't we used to have a black cap? Not that I would want black again, but it does show that Skip was willing to have a 2nd cap.
