GIVING DAY 2023
I've got Buffalo over West Virginia in a couple brackets. Probably won't happen - I haven't hit on an upset pick yet.

I have that too. I haven't hit any upsets either, because I picked EWU over Gtown and SFA over Utah, and both lost. I am hoping that Buffalo and Valpo will help me out.

I don't think I'm going to listen to any of the pundits when I fill out my bracket(s) next year. I picked EWU and SFA in a bracket or two based on buzz I heard in the media.

As far as high high seeds I had Iowa State going deep in a couple brackets. I think I heard some espn radio personality going gaga over them and it swayed me.

Of course, I tell myself every year I'm not going to listen to the pundits any more.

Stephen F. Austin has looked good all season, so that was a surprise in my opinion.

Georgetown had a "track record" of choking in recent years, so history has to be broken sometime.

I picked against too many Big East teams in the first round, and I had ISU going to the Sweet 16 too.

Will Wade has turned down the offer from UNCC. Could he be more interested in an A10 job?

Interesting.

He's only making $198,000 at UTC. The Charlotte job was paying Major $450,000 to $600,000 depending on incentives. Wade is supposed to have a good team coming back.

I wouldn't mind a new job with a bump like that!

Watching so many well coached teams. So many fundamentally sound players who can use the off hand, make a 3 and a free throw, don't panic and turn it over 25 times a game under no real duress, damn! Smart substitution patterns. Intelligent use of timeouts. Defenses that work around the low post, provide room to slide through on a pick and roll, guys that get out on the three, provide help side, sacrifice, and work for the good of the team! We have had none of that. Damn, I realized just how BAD we've had it the past 4 years. Give me a smart coach who recruits fundamentally sound, smart players, has a plan, and can execute said plan, that's all I ask for. Wins will take care of themselves under those circumstances. Head cases? Selfish players? Poorly skilled? Athletes? Send them packing.
