Shaka to Marquette?

Everything goes in cycles.

I hate this as I grew up a Marquette fan. Ditching "Warriors" soured me, Shaka almost cements my lack of further affinity for that school.

Having Shaka at vcu is good for the conference. I, for one, would like to see him stay.

I don't care about the a10, I just want what best for Mason. If his staying at vcu helps the conference and in turn helps Mason then fine, but I have seen nothing about vcu's success helping Mason.

Maybe because it is BS? Not sure. However, he turned down UCLA - and now he would go for Marquette. He has life time employment at vcu and has the Admin there firmly and orally affixed to his nutsack. Unless they threw a truckload of unmarked bills and raw gold bars at him - I just doubt it.

Maybe it has to do with expectations. With UCLA and Illinois history their fans would expect final fours and national championships an early round exit three years in a row and he'd be on the hot seat.

Back on Samnang's vcu boards on the old CAA site I think he started a thread wondering if Wisconsin or Marquette would ultimately be the ones to lure Shaka away. There wasn't a lot of discussion about it but I think VCUBanana told him to go f*ck himself.

I just like to see our guys play the best competition possible.

My blame pie for OCM moving on to Miami is another BIG reason I want to see vcu lose Shaka

40% vcu for the contract they gave Shaka
30% GMU AD for lack of stones to pay OCM and build a practice facility
20% OCM for exploring the option and not giving the hometown discount
10% Tom Yeager because the CAA sucked

Has to be just the rumor of him being on the list...but then again crazier things have happened like a school not paying to keep their face of the program, and then hired a retread waste, which caused possibly the best player to leave, and just 3 years later the program can barely win a game unless the other coach takes the night off...

The Big East unless it poaches more A-10 teams is going to be fighting for relevance...just cant see it.

Well, Shaka has a top 15 recruiting class coming in. He could just as easily take all 4 of them with him to Marquette, which under Buzz played essentially the same sort of frenzied streetball that he prefers.

He's from Wisconsin, so Milwaukee could hold a special place in his heart.

And I always figured at some point, he'd have to wake up and realize, "Oh crap, I live in Richmond?

(I don't really think he's gonna leave. He knows he has vcu by the balls and is probably using this to re-do his deal again. But anything that causes vcu fans pain brings me joy, so I can always hope.)

This one is really interesting. All the confirmed reports are Wisconsin based which makes me skeptical. Goodman is saying nothing is done or imminent. Sounds like a lot of wishful boosters to me.
