If and when we hire Tony Skinn (totally on board, can't wait) I'm hoping the collective group of Mason Hoop Alums who love Tony as a hire, and whom presumably already have some relationship with the players- help recruit of few of the key guys to stay.

Not sure if you mean Athletic Director or Athletic Department here but either way it is completely different now...so why even go there? Does he have sour grapes towards Dr. Washington, Nena Rogers, etc? Shit, GW has more staff members from the 06 Mason Athletic Department than we do now...

Athletic department in general, sometimes one has to clean with disinfectant before meaningful change can occur. My few interactions with the athletic department left me wondering how they were employed…I perceived there was absolutely no pressure to succeed/push the envelope.

There are obviously ways around the rules, but I'm pretty sure coaches face serious implications if they contact prospective players before they are in the portal.

That said, Kim is Mason's coach until he signs the new contract, so I'm sure he has had one-on-one conversations with our current players and incoming recruits about what whether they fit into his new plans. I'm sure we will see a flurry of activity once he makes his decision.

Yeah recruits get released. Polite, Ginika, Henry are only 3 that stick around. May have to grab a couple d2 kids or juco guys to fill out a team. I don't know if you can find 10 kids mid summer. Could go with a bunch of walk on's to practice and not lock up scholarships.

Of course, will be lot of portal guys. Most high schoolers are locked up and not as much heartbroken on those but do need players to fill up a roster. Fully expect next coach will need 3-4 years to be competitive.

You’re right, the truth is bad enough, so no need to say dumb shit like we were a D2 school and weren’t even drawing 1,000 fans before L came. Bad look for Caputo.
