Poor baby!

I am so glad he's gone. Same old tired message. He'll end up selling used cars in Hoboken, New Jersey.
He may be throwing away his chances to get hired anywhere else. Except, perhaps as a recruiter. But if recruits see this....

I have seen this in the real world. A young "hot shot" gets a promotion way above his level of readiness. The rare true superstar excels, but the fast talking, a** kissers get exposed quick. Almost always, they lash out at those around them as being the problem. They are such narcissists that it never occurs to them that it is them. The clever ones hope another company will think that their fast rise is a result of them being a superstar, and they jump before they get fired.

Well said and great use of sarcasm. He went from a guy kids would love to play for to a guy no kid should want to play for. Like '81 said, he should be selling cars instead of selling out his players.
Yep, is there anybody, besides himself, that he hasn't blamed for loses over the years?
(Although, I do seem to remember at the very beginning here at GaMoo, he would say "I/we (the coaches) have to do better." But as the losses mounted he had to find a new scapegoat to excuse himself. )

Honestly I always thought Kim was pretty forward in his press conferences , with donors and wherever else. Plenty of times he said he needed to fix or help the group or program.

Needless to say he’s having his toughest year out of 4. He really needs to figure it out next year or he could be out of a head coaching job pretty soon.

The above video was not the entire post game presser, so, it is a little misleading. Also, there were two post game pressers. You can see both of them in their entirety at:

View: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rrv6eNCc9FA

At 9:00 mark and onward he takes responsibility for the teams lack of execution/preparation.
I don't think the interview is as damning as you all are making it out to be.

Cut it out, this doesn’t fit the narrative.

"You all are making it out to be."
Well, when the clip is all we have had, it's all we have to go on and react to.

If it doesn't work out at Providence, what job will Kim English have next?
He gets fired and he walks away with $2M plus whatever he has saved from the last $4M

there are 360+ Division I Men's BBall programs
he shouldn't need a big salary so any program ranked 200-360 becomes an opportunity to "prove" himself and learn
I see it as more of a matter of pride and is he humble enough to go to a smaller conference or a poor school in a big conference and essentially start over?

Providence isn’t firing Kim. He’s a good recruiter and decent coach. There‘s a big learning curve as a head coach, and I’m sure he’s got a fairly long leash up there to figure it out — especially given his contract and injuries to a few of his top players. He just needs to teach better and work on his temperament.

Don’t agree about him having a leash - he inherited a top 25 ish team and its gotten significantly worse each of the last two seasons.

I would guess he’s gone if he doesnt make NCAAT next year - and that’s assuming he survives this year.

I should also add that I’ve played for Kim - I was a key reserve player on the only team he’s ever coached that won a championship.

IMO his biggest asset is his competitiveness, but when things aren’t going well it becomes his biggest weakness.

I think he needs players that have a similar level of competitiveness, but when he sees players not giving 100% he can’t hold back in his pressers and instead calls it like he sees it.
